Can you recommend Watchmaker in Surrey, UK?

Can anyone recommend a good Rolex watchmaker who would change the crystal on my 1971 1680 Sub for a Tropic 19 crystal?

Who is the best supplier of genuine Rolex parts in the UK?

Thank you in advance.

Regards

Hi David, I was looking for the same. Rolex UK will take up to 3 months over it, if my experience a couple of weeks ago was any judge.

After a long search and much ringing around I sent my you-know-what to Ray at timerepairs.co.uk on the IoW (not Surrey but near enough) who quoted me 4-6 weeks and will tell you why it takes R'UK so long.

Give him a call, he seemed pretty clued up and is Rolex Certified which means he uses genuine Rolex parts.

Forgot to mention, as well as taking half the time and probably costing less (£250 was the service quote, IIRC) the guy does 2 years warranty, twice what RSC UK offer I believe.

And there's no fuss/surcharge/cop out about my watch being 29 years old, as I hear one gets from some Rolex ADs/RSC.

When the time comes I may do a review of the experience. Don't know if there's a database of recommended UK Rolex dealers/watchmakers on RTF, but it would be good if there was as there seem to be plenty elsewhere, especially in the US.
