how fast your SS daytona pick up scratches?

I had my SS daytona for only around three months, the polished portion of the bracelet already picked up scratches. I do not even wear it very often.
Just dont understand whyt rolex wants to make PCL, just hate it.

My Daytona doesn't scratch any more than the others......... They are a little more noticeable on the polished bezel though...

But, the Daytona has had a polished bezel for 40 years and a polished center link bracelet for 10 years... People seem to like it...

I don't like PCL's in general though.... it's an easy fix:

My dad got his Daytona back in the late 70's. Silver face, black bezel and dials, SS - you know the one I'm talking about. He worked in a steel mill, worked alot of hours and made darned good money for the time (usually had his Social Security paid off in November). He wore the Daytona to work. After a couple years, it looked like crap!

The plastic "crystal" was stupid-easy to scratch. I LMAO at how much people are now paying for those things!! They are, IMHO, SUPER pretty when they are cleaned up, but I sure enjoy my Submariner WAY more. Nearly 20 years of daily wear on the Sub, and it looks better than the Daytona after 2.

PCLs no matter the reference are show wear. It's a great reference though.

There are a lot of how-to's around, but I usually use a green 3m Scotch Brite pad for both touch-up and a full brush... Much of the time I go over it again with some steel wool to "knock down" any high edges..

I have a DIY over in the Reference Library in the Amateur Watchmakers Corner..

Can the SS Daytona Bezel be polished with the cape cod polishing cloth without damaging the numbers?
