curved hour hand... ?

are the hour hands on a rolex sport watch curved?

Dunno but most I've seen have curved Mercedes roundels. Probably because they are too thin to maintain a perfectly flat appearance.

You can tell some of the fakes that way - they curve A LOT around the roundel because the hands are paper-thin.

The upper side (crystal side) of the hand is curved, and the bottom side (dial side) is flat: i love those tiny engineers things: that improves legibility because the hands reflects more light: like a curved (convex here) miror.
There are some macro shots from time to time, where you can see it.

I always thought the curvature was intended for both legibility and straightness.
