Icon11 simple mistake or misrepresentation?

I don't want to put this on "watch out" forume, I think the watch is good, however, the saler states that the watch's age is "2000-now", and the style is 118206, from the pictures, it looks like it is style 18206, and from the serial number starts with "s", its age should be 1993.

Am I right? or I am mis-educated? Please help.

Maybe the receipt from Tourneau has purchase date of 2000.

Of course his zero feedback is more than made up for by the fact that he joined Ebay 4 days ago.

Oh give me strength; he is just across the river and has posted the pictures I asked for even the papers. I e-mailed him back that he should not have shown the entire number on the papers.

Now how many people are going to spend $15,000 on a Rolex from a 0 seller. If I get the watch in my hands I will be able to tell. Perhaps we will meet at Rolex USA.

No; I only like yellow DDs.

The seller has the watch; it is the real deal. I would only do a face to face which the seller is willing to do.

Do you need an agent?

Tricky

Yes it's tricky but if you can meet face2face you can also go to RSC for verification.

I kind of like the watch.

Jack
He wanted to meet at a Chase bank for a face to face I didn't counter with meeting at Rolex USA as I am satisfied he has the watch and it is real as far as one can tell by pictures. I really wasn't interested in buying it just checking the facts.

If one meets at Rolex USA to have them verify the watch it costs $120; of course if it has issues the buyer can walk and the seller will have to pay to get his watch back. I wonder what his reserve is?

Platinum DD with diamond dial all papers and box, serviced by Rolex USA with a one year warranty. What am I bid?

Why don't you find a better seller and a forget the deal, as you might get a deal you didn't bargain for!!!!!!

Of course ebay backs you 100% now. But, if you don't receive what you expected, be prepared for a couple months of aggravation before you see your money again. It isn't worth it my friend.

Isn't there a limit on how much one can pay with Pay Pal? I would NEVER buy a watch for that amount of money without holding it in my hand.

Say the guy sends an $80 fake. How is the buyer going to prove to eBay it is a fake and he did not switch watches? Remember it is the buyer's money that is tied up as the seller is out very little.

On the flip side suppose the seller sends the real deal and the buyer does indeed switch it. I can not see eBay getting into trying to authenticate watches when even a AD can't do it.

That's what I really would like to know.

Also :

We are doing a lot of work for PayPal and Ebay on a daily base, sure..in the end the potential buyer is also a winner.
Though Ebay and Paypal act like complete asses in our direction, imagine half of the watches we "kill" are sold and disputed afterwards. What ammount of work and money would that cost Ebay, Paypal and CC companies ?

Have they ever thanked us in a decent way ?

Geez dropping $15k for a platinum Rolex and quibbling over a pittance for authentication? Besides, if the watch is fake Rolex will confiscate it and then the fun will REALLY start!

I sent the seller another e-mail two days ago asking if he would be willing to meet at Rolex USA instead of a bank. He hasn't gotten back to me. Funny he jumped through hoops with my first e-mail posting pictures of the papers and the watch set to a time I asked for. He even responded to my thanking him for the pictures. My guess it the watch has issues like aftermarket diamonds or bracelet.
