New Airking or Used Sub 5513?

I have the opportunity to buy a used Sub 5513 for around the same price as a new Airking. Which watch would you chose and why?

5513. It is a classic sub and for me has much more "personality" than an AK.

For me it would have to be the 5513 although the Airking is a fine watch I much prefer a sports trype watch. And the vintage 5513 movement is bullet proof, so not a problem for daily wear.

I'd go for the Sub, if it's in good condition. An everyday classic, that'll hold its value

Just to be contrary, I vote for the AK because it's got Air-King written on the dial.

Get the new Air-King. It has timeless style and more history.

Air King because it's more unique, understated, and NEW. There are few pleasures as wonderful as removing the plastic film from a new Rolex and seeing your name written on a warranty card.

Subbies are great, but they are somewhat common. I probably see 20 Subbies for one AK.

i think it boils down to which one you like better. when you look down to tell the time, which watch will give you greater pleasure. only you can answer that.

Hands down, I would go for the 5513. No question. Larger size, better value (JMO), more collectible and of course, the history is rich in adventure, too. The AK is an icon but the 5513 is my kind of watch.

Thank Guys!

I am leaning towards the sub because it was just overhauled at an AD so I know that it is in good condition. Also, I really like the old 1520 movements.

Sure doesn't hurt that with the 5513 you can wear your money "so to speak".
Think of it as an addition to your portfolio, while the AK is just a nice ROLEX. of course it's JMO.
