Married Scammer?: "going to visit my fiancée in Africa in a couple weeks..."

Note the wedding ring on his hand in the picture

I don't know if this watch is a problem, but it was funny enough to put it up here just in case. (The sizes of his pictures varied quite a bit-sorry)

Hello friends, today I have up for auction an antique men’s Oysterdate Rolex, probably from the mid-70’s. It is from my grandfather’s estate, and he was always very meticulous about keeping his things clean, orderly and properly functioning. I got it a couple years ago, and had it serviced. I wore it for a couple months, and then decided I’d just keep it wound and then decided since I wasn’t wearing it, I didn’t need to keep it wound. Then I placed it in the box the service man gave it to me in and have kept it in an airtight fireproof safe since. I really hate to let this go, but I am going to visit my fiancée in Africa in a couple weeks, and there’s really no way I can afford to take the trip and miss work without parting with some of my valuables. If you have access to a Rolex catalogue and want to know the exact date this was manufactured, the serial number is 6694 827521. The service man wrote it down for me when he took off the band to clean it. PLEASE

Oh my, what an idiot! You'd think the guy would think to remove his wedding ring before taking those photos.

I always think it's a red flag when "sellers" post too little information about the watch itself, or they WAY over-explain and in addition, LIE about why the watch is on the market. NO ONE CARES!!

I agree with both your points... but I thought it was funny too! Sad, pathetic and funny.

The watch looks good to me :-) serial dates it around 1952'ish, I have a feeling its a lack of knowledge on the sellers behalf, he did get it looked at and the model and serial are listed, seems to have good history, the ring is a bit of an oops :-)
