Not an April Fools joke...there is something inside my dial!!! :(

I've had my Deep Sea now about 10 days. I was sitting in my car waiting at a light with the sun roof open...checking out my watch with the sunshine right on it and glaring at me is something that shouldn't be there...

There is something between the L and O on the Ring Lock System writing on the inner bezel.

I took pics and I'm sending to my AD...I am sitting here dreading the idea of having to ship the watch and wait weeks to get it back. I'm actually depressed thinking about it.

I know there is no choice but to send it in...I mean who could live with it there? Plus the crazy part is I didn't notice it until today which is beyond weird because I've looked at this watch a thousand times since I bought it.

I've even looked in other pictures I've taken recently and it wasn't visible...it's only noticeable if you look super super close and in the right light but CAN YOU BELIEVE SOMETHING IS INSIDE???

It looks almost like a little piece of pencil eraser. That definitely would bug me. Sending it in would be the right thing to do.

That stinks! If your AD has an onsite watchmaker, it could be a quick fix.

It is a microphone that the government is requiring in all new watches. It allows them to listen in to your conversations. Standard issue these days>

Thanks guys. I'm so upset about this that my family doesn't even want to be around me....

I mean this damn thing is brand new and now I have to part with it. It takes away the joy of owning it and really just pisses me off to no end!

I see it clearly. But if I were you, I would best leaves it alone. I mean common, is "this" the reason you want to send it to someone? Really think about what you are asking...
Its not like its running +10/day, really understand what is implied when this timepiece leaves your possession for this slight QC issue. Its guaranteed "Heartache" !
Just enjoy your watch...

Could that be an option? If it is...I want a new one.

I mean...any defect like this from a brand new from the Factory watch is unacceptable. I had to order it and wait 2 weeks for it so it was brand new.

I'm going to ask tomorrow for a new one. I know they will say...send it to us first and we will let you know but I think for me...the only option is a new one...I can't deal waiting weeks for a watch that I just bought and have worn for 10 days now. It will be torture.

I know there can be worst things in life...I know this...but why does this hurt so much! ARGHHHHHHH!!!!!

Rolex is at fault. Make sure your AD takes your side and does all the leg work. Maybe your AD will just swap watches with you??

If you have to send it in, Make sure your AD gives you a GMT FOR HALF OFF, a token for "pissing" you off!

I am so sorry this has happened, and you are rightfully frustrated. Like I said it will be all right in the end. Dont get too worked up.

I know what you are saying but truthfully I couldn't live with a defect when spending this kind of money. It's too much to have a defect at all.

It will be hell parting with it but I don't see other options

Yeah right, send it thru as many "hands" as possible; then you increase your chances for more problem(s) EXPONENTIALLY !

If your gonna send it back- send it direct to ROLEX~YOURSELF !
Especially if the AD isnt gonna give you a new "replacement" (which they shuld, but they wont)...

Find yourself a watchmaker with a ROLEX caseback wrench and have him open it - vacuum the thing out. You may want to talk to Leo, he's got a watchmaker that can deal with this and prolly on a walk-in basis.
You go sendin this thru channels and the chance of ''you'll be sorry" increases...

I agree with you. However if the AD is reputable, they should just swap the timepiece for a new one.

I would be firm, kind a persistent with the AD...at only 10 days old, he should swap it out.

It does have some kind of pink tint to it...it's beyond bizarre.

I am going to be firm about getting another one. Not sure how likely that is but I have already sent multiple people to this AD as well so I expect royal treatment.

Actually,

I told him I would buy a GMT or SD from him.. He better rectify this!

It looks like a miniscule piece of the gasket or some o-ring..

And what did you do once you discovered it? Did you send them back? Get new ones?

Thanks

So I went back to some pictures I took when I first got the watch and wanted to see if it was there...

Sure enough...it was on there one of the first nights I got it.

Here is a picture. LOOK BETWEEN THE L and O on RING LOCK SYSTEM. The pink thing in there...what could that be? JEEZ!!!!!
