Thank you.

I have had a very hectic schedule lately and thought it would be nice to just sit for a couple hours, play with my camera and catch up with buddies on TRF.

Thanks Dan, I love anything related to diving, watches and photography, so the Trieste subject matter was a trifecta in my book

Thanks Abel, the Trieste memorabilia collection actually belongs to my friend Dick Taylor, an old salt and pilot #25 of the Trieste.

Great stuff John, thanks for sharing!
I just read this weekend the chapter by Jacques Piccard about the descent with Capt Walsh in Pete Millar's book, Diving with Legends. Dr Robert and I were fortunate to meet Capt Walsh at the 50th anniv event at the Rolex shop in Costa Mesa earlier this year, a great experience.
Here's a few shots.

That is very cool David !

I'd like to make one of those events and would love to talk to Capt Don Walsh...

The history of Diving, deep sea exploration and Rolex is fascinating.

Many non-dive enthusiasts are unaware that Jacques Piccard was a balloonist and that Trieste was essentially a "helium balloon" for the ocean that utilized aviation gas as the buoyant, (avgas 723Kg/M3 v. ocean water 1020-1029Kg/M3.) The "practically" non-compressibility of liquids was a necessity due to the massive pressure exerted by the Challenger Deep, EIGHT TONS PER SQUARE INCH at the bottom of that abyss.

The book is filled with stories from famous divers, written by them in their own words. Great reading.
