Which Rolex is tougher?

Good evening everyone

I wonder what you all think is a tougher Rolex,ExplorerII or the Sub? My vote is for the less complex no date Sub. Let me know what you think.

Both are excellent however the no date sub is my pick. Both are tool watches.

Both are very tough watches, but the ExpII has my vote since the bezel is fixed.

I will tell you tomorrow after I pick up my Explorer II...I have a 14060m and it is tough but from what I have read Explorer II is the ultimate outdoors watch.

Well since it wasn't specified...I'd say Sub No Date. Fewer complications...

The Sub no-date has a moving part on the outside (the bezel) but far fewer moving parts on the inside. Remember, the Explorer II has the date and the GMT complication.

Of course, an Explorer II with a malfunctioning date is no less functional than the Sub that doesn't have a date display at all.

There are equal I would say but the case back is thicker on the Sub., I think. The Exp II lack of a rotating bezel is better in sandy environments where dirt can get under the bezel.

Have both a Expy 2 and 14060, and while the Sub is heavier, the Expy 2 just feels a
lot more like a tougher go-anywhere watch to me - not a 'scientific'', but more an
emotional/visual/tactile sense of the two. The fixed, 'no-paint', and sloping bezel is
a big factor

The Sub with no date, even with the moving part on the outside.

Hard question to answer, but I'd rather have the 14060 in an extreme condition. The bezel could deflect a blow that would otherwise crack the crystal. Plus the fewer parts in the movement.
