My wife now has permanent "eye roll syndrome"
As is my wont, I naturallly timed my newly acquired K SD for 24 hours on time .gov and the result as of this morning was a solid -2.
I've been moping around ever since. It needs no service, no fiddling, is cosmetically flawless, can't be modified short of a nato strap (on order) and is just exactly doing what it is suposed to do, and doing it perfectly. But it seems that my wife's eye's are stuck in the sarcastic "eye roll" position and won't come un stuck. Is there a cure for this or am I doomed to be the victim of the "Oh PLEASE...." look for the rest of my natural life? Please help me...it's really creepy.

If she's like mine, get her something sparkly. After 5 years of marriage, I finally bought her the engagement ring we didn't have the money for back then. Now I get to do the eye roll when she ogles her hand...

That's a good idea actually, buy her a piece of jewellery or something for which you get to roll your eyes too

HA!
I swapped the short dive extender for the long dive extender! I feel so much better now.

Thanks I made it in Photoshop CS4
I guess it'll do for a while I'm actually watching Thunderball now for the first time (that I can recall).

Every time I buy a new watch I also make a trip to Tiffanys. Usually shuts her up

If you're after some fiddling, how about getting a GMT, Nat? So much customization, and all the eye rolling you can stand!

it is not possible to buy them off. you may think that you have but... get one who doesnt care cause she already knows that its only a watch. no wonder they think that we are the weaker sex. i remember giving lady of the house a motorcycle. 5 weeks later she has a licence, insurance (tags) and off she goes. god talk about war of the sexes. investment yeah right.

Did I understand correctly? Your watch is running perfectly, besides being a perfect specimen externally and you're moping?
You really can get by with checking your watch every seven days and for an automatic that will give you a better reading than if you check it several times a day, if that's indeed what you did. However, I'm no fan of the female eye-roller, especially when women have as many or more things about which they are obsessive compulsive. Think toilet seat and shoes. I, myself, would reevaluate the relationship, but in your case, you're married and if you intend to stay that way, you're options are more limited than mine would be. The first suggestion would be to do an assessment of your behavior and ask yourself if perhaps your behavior is in fact worthy of eye-rolling. I'm a firm believer in the cognitive approach. If you can honestly say that you don't deserve the eye rolling treatment, which if it's not obviously done in jest, is condescending at best and contemptuous at worst, you should sit down with your wife and tell her that while you know that she doesn't understand your hobby, you find it disconcerting for her ridicule your interests. The advantage of this approach is that you lay out everything that's on your mind all at once in an honest and sincere manner and that you will get an immediate and spontaneous response from her. The disadvantage is that the response may not be what you were hoping for and may exacerbate the situation. While giving your love interest a nice gift is never wrong, doing so merely to distract her from your little obsession won't really get across your real message or discourage the behavior in question. On the contrary, it will reinforce the behavior, which is the opposite of your intentions. So my advice is to be tactfully direct and get the issue settled ASAP. |

one of my ex-wives did the eye roll thing & said the line..."oh, boys & their toys....it's me or the watches"
I grabbed the watch case & said...."be seeing you" |
