There are a couple of members here who work for Rolex ADs but none of them sell here.

You'd better get your eyesight checked as far as BNIB is concerned. There have been thousands of them sold here.

Tons of BNIB watches sold here every day, but there are a few members here who work in ADs. I'm sure they'll post in the thread if they feel like making themselves known.

AD's cannot sell new Rolex watches over the internet. They cannot even say they sell Rolex watches on their web site.

If any AD, or employee of an AD were found out to be selling watches on a Forum, or the internet, they would likely be looking for new jobs........

As said, AD's aren't even allowed to advertise on the 'net.........

I do work for an AD, and I do believe there are one or two others. However, as pointed out above, ADs are not allowed, as per their agreement with Rolex, to sell watches over the internet, hence why I, for example, do not post BNIB watches on the for sale forum. If you ever have any questions about AD policies or practices, please let me know

I'm starting a watchmaking apprenticeship with an AD in a few months. And no we are definatly not allowed to sell watches on the Internet. As for Rolex were not even allowed to advertise which models we have in stock on the net.

I meant BNIB as in right off the showroom floor. I wasnt aware of the policies they had. Interesting indeed.

When one of TRF's trusted sellers say's BNIB It is like buying it from the showroom without sticker shock!

This is something that puzzles me. Rolex ADs are not allowed to sell or advertise on the net and sell only in retail stores, Where do all the BNIB watches come from? I see a lot of BNIB watches here, on ebay, and on the net for sale, did they all come from ADs?

Yup, that's the only place where Rolex supplies them

I didnt really have a question. I was just curious to see if ,out of all the rolex crazed members on TRF, anyone actually worked and made a living off what they love.

I applied, but they said I know too much about Rolex to work for them
No offence to anyone who works at an AD, again just taking a shot at every AD out there who believe the GMCIIc has WG center links.

Why on gods green earth would they tell you that you know TOO MUCH about the product to let you sell it? Thats absurd. Ive heard alot of horror stories about uninformed AD employees, guess they like it that way.

Anybody feel that Rolex's policy on internet selling is now outdated
considering that the web is where retailing is moving?

You may be right, but you would miss out on the whole dealer experience, good or bad, plus you will pay flat out retail. There are a lot of companies that won't sell on the net or big box stores.
