Have you seen a dark gray 16613 serti dial before..??

I bought this one today.

Original slate/silver serti dial that has faded in to a darker shade of gray.

Pretty neat looking.......What do you think?

I must say the color is growing on me.

PS. I already ordered a new bezel insert for it.

Agree, but it's a regular silver serti that has turned dark.

Yes I'm sure.

Theperson I bought it from purchased it in 1999 with a silver dial that over the years faded to this color.

Worth mentioning is that he's a yacht captain and this watch has been in the Carribean sun pretty much everyday since 1999.

Leo I like it. Try a black insert and see how it goes with the grey?

Yes Leo I have seen a dial like that before, however the color change was not as consistent as yours and had not spread across the entire dial. How does the inside of the caseback and movement look? I am wondering if there may have once been some moisture in the case. Either way, I love the look, and personally, I would keep the insert as is!

That's a Gray MOP dial. My Serti Sub is 12 Years old now and it has never faded or changed color. The only two OEM Serti dials offered by Rolex is Champange and light Slate on the Submariner. I have seen that color serti dial before and it was a aftermarket serti dial. There are several variations of the Serti dial that are after market and most are very high quality.

You can see the original colour at the edges of the dial.

I like that colour better than the original Leo.

Thanks Scott, we opened it up yesterday and it's nice and clean.
I decided to stick with the blue insert.

When I bought it I thought so too and paid accordingly.
However, after my watchmaker opened it up and checked it out he came to the conclusion that it's all original.

Great lookin' Serti Leo, congratulations!

I did have the manager of our local AD tell me that a lot of sun exposure would change the color on the Serti dials. But, you would expect it to lighten rather than darken! No matter, the watch looks very nice and unique!
