I take iconic to mean something that is readily recognized, and generally represents an object or concept with great cultural significance to a wide cultural group. In the context of Rolex, these two (and others as well) would be immediately recognized as representing the essence of Rolex, and are much revered as such. BTW, I LOVE mine!

It has to be the Submariner for me! Apart from the fact it is just a classic great looking watch the various models have been worn many a famous face. Connery (as James Bond) and Steve McQueen are just two that spring to mind - the coolest onscreen secret agent and the King of Cool himself :p
Just my opinion of course... M |

IMHO Rolex has several iconic models. For non-WIS people probably the Submariner is the most iconic, with the Daytona close second. But then DateJust, Day-Date, GMT are all iconic in my book.

I think there is no doubt that a Sub is the flagship model, but the GMT IIc is giving it a run for its money, especially now that I see how the new Sub looks so plain. I still voted for the Sub anyway.

If you're looking for the longest running model, then the winner is the Datejust - in continuous production since 1945

DJ and SUb hands down! Two of the most copied watches int he world I imagine between the oyster and jubiliee bracelet as well as the fluted bezel and sub bezel. I see look a likes of those elements every day!

Although the Sub seems to be miles ahead on votes, in actual fact it's the TT DJ that is the highest and fastest selling Rolex of them all.
It's by far the most recognised Rolex of them all....................but sadly, the most replicated too. JJ
