The watch I love always falls short DATEJUST
The datejust was the first watch I fell in love with. As a 13-14 year old boy I remember seeing it at the AD in the mall and just falling in love. It was so elegant to me the thing just looked like 100% pure class.
Now to current day I have burnt threw many watches over the years includeing a Datejust or two but everytime I own one it never really satisfys me the way I thought it would/should so I flip it. Then 6 months later I want another not as happy as I thought I would be flip it again. I dont get it That brings us to tonight I am posting on the what are you wareing today thread (the 2 seamasters I wore today) I am looking at all the fine watches people posted today and I get to the Datejust!!!!! That class that subtle shine that elegance I MUST HAVE ONE!!I DONT GET IT It is like a phantom watch I love how it looks in pictures, on others and in displays but when I get one I am always a little cold with it. Maybe the size??? but for me 36mm is really what a datejust should be I tried on the DJ II and it really did nothing for me.. I dont know where I am going with this other then I want a DJ again but dont really think I should do it. but then again I could always flip her again if I was not satisfied Anybody else ever have this problem with a watch they love? |

I was the same....with the "falling in love at the AD's window" routine......I bought my first 16030 in November 1986....if I had to keep just one watch that would be it....almost 24 years looking at it and wearing it....I have simply never tired of it.....it's one of the most perfect watches ever made in my opinion......probably one of the highest sellers too.....I love it dearly

Chris, I would take some more time and think about what you really want because I do not think you know. There's nothing wrong in not knowing but you need to put more time and thought into your next purchase so you will be happy with your results!!!

Wiser words have probably never been spoken That is kind of how my 2254.50 went and no watch includeing my SUB has ever made me more happy. I know I know you say really you like it better then the SUB well I like them both but for what ever reason I just lean towards the OMEGA

Have you looked at an Explorer?
It just might be what your looking for. Rugged, not too flashy, but dressy enough. You seem to be good at flipping. What do you have to lose? |

This is true I have yet to really lose much money because of a watch purchase. We leave the Stock market to do that

I have the same relationship with PAMs. For the longest time now, I've been lusting for a 111. But every time I save up enough to get one, another Rolex worms its way to my wrist.
I can tell you I've never regretted any of my Rolex purchases, so I leave it at that. Life's too short to live with regret.

Don't buy it if it doesn't sing to you on your wrist. Some things are better to be admired than possessed.

Chris,..... why not try on a ToG.....I have a huge soft spot for them.
The most underrated Oyster IMHO. It may just have that extra "umph" you are looking for. |
