Well, the 5513's now on a 93150 w/580 EL's
No pics yet, but it's now on a 93150. It just arrived and recently traded for my 9315. It actually wears and feels much more durable. I seriously believe this is the way to go, not only more durable but safer as well. The 9315 is tinny and feels it could break at the drop of a hat. I had this on all afternoon, working with horses and it felt so safe on my wrist. I'm not sure if it's just the new bracelet, but it may also be the end links as well. So, there you have it, vintage with the safety and security of modern.

As an everyday wear I prefer the 93150.

Weren't you trying to sell that watch? Why invest more in it then?
Regardless, if you are happy with the 'upgrade', then good on you! |

Have to agree Mike and many have been replaced over the years and not a real big deal IMHO.

Thanks, but I really didn't invest per say, I only traded bracelets. I know the 9315 is worth more money wise, but for me I prefer the 93150...

Good , Steve .. I was getting worried ! You weren't flipping , not worried about a dark spot , short hand etc.. Just changed the bracelet ! Good on you . You seem happier with that setup .

The dark spot's right next to that ding on your dial!
Nice pics, Steve! Great decision on the bracelet. You can now have your vintage and modern at the same time.

Hi Steve;
Glad you received the bracelet safely,(I was worried for a few days) and that you are enjoying it on your beautiful 5513. You will be happy with the comfort, and safely knowing that your vintage timepiece will be secure. Enjoy it my friend. Eagerly awaiting the vintage 9315. |

Congrats... but why separate the watch from its original band? Maybe it's just me but it's kind of a pet peeve...and I'm seeing it more and more... why not just keep the OG band tucked away in a safe and buy a new one for use everyday?

Well, first off I can't justify keeping an $800 band "tucked away" in my safe just in case I want to wear it, which wouldn't happen because IMO the 9315 is a tinny piece of crap, uncomfortable and the end links fit like the only reason it's worth so much is becuase it's collectible. Some things were improved over the years for a reason, and the Oyster band is no exception. Oh, and before I forget, I really would be pissed of the folded links decided to open and I lost my several thousand dollar 5513...

Yeah, maybe but the FL that I had for it wasn't original for this year anyway, it needs a rivet band to be really 100% original so I guess it's a mute point. Why are you raining on my parade Yazo? Other things on this piece that are not original are the crown, insert and I'm sure there are more parts inside that have been replaced throughout the years. Not even sure about the crystal, so vintage 100%? When is it really?

The only reason I got it was for comfort and safety. I love the look of the 9315, but it's tinny IMO and I can't get the right fit from it. It's a great band, don't get me wrong, but just not the band I want to wear everyday. Either I got rid of the watch or I replaced the band, and I opted for the latter. |
