Coming full circle
Has anyone come full circle in their collection? I started with rolex 20 years ago before selling most off and getting into many other brands including patek. After a while I found I wasn't comfortable wearing the pateks while playing baseball with the kids, washing the car, water skiing, etc. I even was wearing my few remaining rolex's in more formal occasions. Not able to justify expensive patek safe queens I recently sold them and I'm glad I did. A rolex is such a versatile watch in all occasions. I'm glad I came back home. Any similar stories out there?

I think I'm about to. Wore Seikos for years and kept breaking them, so in 1981 I bought a TT Rolex GMT Master which I wore until 2004. I had one gold dress watch (then a Gruen) on a strap given to me when I was 13.
Since 2004 I've probably flipped close to 40 watches. Now I have one gold dress watch (Omega Aqua Terra) on strap, one Seiko (SBBN015 Tuna Can) and while I was looking very hard at buying a TT Ceramic Sub, I'm starting to come full circle and am considering a TT GMT Master II Ceramic, AND calling it a day. Of course, I've said that before.........several times. |
