Exactly who are these "trusted TRF sellers?"

I've been a member of this forum for only a short time and so maybe the answer to my question is obvious to everyone else, but I'd really like to know who these "trusted" sellers are how did they become that way.

I've seen members suggest that we buy from these sellers but I don't know who "they" are.

I'd love to be able to deal with one of them the next time I make a purchase.

These sellers are watch enthusiast, and have made great business contacts here, and on a few other websites. Several have watch shops, and operate online as well.

I've sold several watches here, but several of these guys sell large numbers of nice watches through out the year. The interesting thing is how these sellers have great comments, and trusted buyers to back their names.

TRF is a close family too. We would only refer fellow members to those we trust.

Those we don't trust make it to the "WATCHOUT" section.

Oscar, Tony, David, and Greg (Mosco) seem to have the biggest following around here, but a trusted seller is someone who can provide you with references on who he has dealt with before. You then can back check by PMing those references, and confirming the seller's integrity.

I've never bought anything more than a $100 on eBay, but wouldn't think twice wiring thousands to any of these guys. Beyond the selling price, what makes a good deal is the peace of mind the right seller brings.

I feel like an ass forgetting to mention Mosco, seeing how I had a conversation with him after I almost got scammed. So uh, add Mosco lol.

I think these are wise questions from someone new to this or any forum. Welcome by the way. In the end they are nice guys who can get you a great deal on a nice watch. I don't know much about other brands, but you'll be hard pressed to find a better deal on a new ROLEX anywhere. There are several members with great deals on new and second hand watches as well.

Paul, even though you don't move the volume that some of the guys do you're definitely a trusted seller! (speaking from personal experience of course!!)

LOL! I like to fly under radar, mate

To that list, I'd add TurboWatch and Train-Time - have done multiple biz with them and all has been superb!

Do you ever really know anyone? Esp over the internet? Esp in dealing with high end watches that go for thousands.

However, I believe that if there's anyone you can trust it would be those mentioned above and in the who's who section. Read the reviews. You have to buy no only the watch, you have to buy the seller. I would have no problem trusting them, I personally know that Oscar (Bodybump) is a good guy and he would go far out of his way to help anyone.

I've purchased watches from bodybump, train-time and Steve Mulholland and found each of them to be completely trustworthy and honorable. In addition, when I was experiencing a scam last December, I was contacted by several other TRF members and sellers with crucial advice regarding theft that ultimately resulted in getting my stolen watches back.

Frankly, I wouldn't buy a used Rolex from anyone BUT a "trusted TRF seller." In fact, I can't think of a reason why I'd buy new or used from anyone else. JMHO.

How could I forget Big A!

I also want to add 2 guys I have bought from face to face: Alex Maniscalco and Jacek Kozubeck.

If anyone is in the SFO are, Jacek and Scott Kaplan's brick and mortar is a must-see. "Aladdin's Cave" comes to mind!

There are no greater enablers than these two!

I know Greg (Mosco) personally and will vouch for him 1000%. I also have dealt with Oscar (bodybump) and Anastasios (Tempking) plus many others. All have been EXCELLENT experiences. Several of these have bought from me too! They go both ways, if you know what I mean. Lol! I HAD to!

Why list and single out 'good sellers' from all the other sellers on the Forum.

We are all innocent until proven guilty and a first time seller on the Forum should be regarded as an honest and fair person to deal with.
Time and post count on the Forum serve to reinforce this standing.
Some sellers are on the Forum to sell watches some are Forum members with just one watch to sell or trade now and then.

Items ofered for sale on the Forum are scrutinized by many members and comments would be quickly made if a suspect seller was seen but it is always up to the buyer to evaluate the seller and act accordingly.

Thanks guys (and gals) for all the responses to my OP. I noticed though that most of the names given are first names. I think they might be easier to do a search for if we also had their screen name. I'm not sure if we're able to search for a fellow member just by first name. But please correct me if I'm wrong.

Also, just out of curiosity, do these sellers charge sales tax? I'm only asking because if we buy an item on Ebay, for the most part, we don't pay any taxes.

Ummmm...is there an easy way to find a member? I went to the Community drop down menu and then to Member List and there are pages and pages to scroll though to find a particular screen name. There has to be a better way!

Hit search, and then advanced search. Type the member's name, and choose the forum you want searched.

Thanks Jib!

Rob, I think you're telling me that you posted a clickable link in you post? If so, I haven't been able to locate it.

Incidentally, you have a good eye! That picture was taken in Venice! My wife and I were there a year ago.
