Barcelona - Part 1 (of 3 parts)- the incredible story through pictures

This is the 1st in 3 threads I am writing on this trip....parts 2 and 3 will follow soon!)

Well - I have just arrived back in Australia...having left on the 27th June

And now I have the chance to say my piece on the Barcelona trip..where I had the most extraordinary time. Totally unexpected - and out of it I know I have made a great friend in Tristan (bassethounds). It was like we were brothers from the start. We just clicked. And so began 6 days of unbridled indulgence

Tristan...May I say here: my friend: your hospitality was exceptional. You are so wonderfully generous; have a gorgeous family - great friends - and Alison, Shaylan and I are still overwhelmed with what you did for us. A time we will never forget...never

So without further ado....here is a story with pics of this amazing time...and all thanks to this wonderful forum through which our two families were able to meet....incredible

1st series are from when my family and I arrived at the wonderful Hotel (thanks Trist)....

as I got out of the cab I saw Tristan already sitting, waiting at the bar for us..this should have been a signchecked in....greeting complete...I head up to the room and back down to join Trist......and the drinking began...

Here is the sequence:

on my way:

we had to do it!!

Tristan and my wife Alison:

Pretending he has work and is important:

oh dear..the Pingus was flowing......

ouch

I cannot remember the meal that night

nor can he

Kind of holding it together:

and maybe not

So that was our 1st meeting.....5pm - 2 am.....6 bottles of fine wine....+ the rest

Next...Tristan picks us up to take us to his family home .....

Drive to get us for nearly 2 hours and the same going back.....incredible

We arrive...and the boozing starts

very happy

our sons play together:

Family pic:

Then this came out

oh dear...Ali liked it:

Then I get to ride Tristan's recently acquired mad 3 wheel scooter while they all go in the car for lunch

What an awesome first part! Both of you seem to be great guys!

What hotel was that? I notice several Arne Jacobsen designed furniture.
