How Often does a random person comment on your rolex?

How often do you get a random person to comment/compliment your watch? Also what watch do you have? I know some rolexes are more noticeable than others, but im just curious how subtle rolex's really are.

The only person to ever comment on my Rolex was my mom. I never really tell anyone about the watch I wear, so it usually goes unnoticed as far as I can tell.

yep. i think thats how it should be... worn subtlely. unless a person is really into rolex/watches i dont think ppl would comment on it at all.

It's very rare. I'm more likely to comment on someone's watch. It's usually a coworker, or someone I am already talking to. Never a stranger.

Occasionally w/my Sub no-date, not a one w/my Explorer... Got a 'double-take' the other day w/my GMT II. I think it was more about the shiny than the actual brand. I don't like the attention actually.

Usually the only people who notice are jewelers, and then they don't kid around with me.

First time in many years was last November...I was

working at my local voting precinct and one of the other workers commented on it. What was surprising (in my experience) is that it was a woman. Been years since another stranger has mentioned my watch though I often catch people glancing at it.

i think a rolex is subtle in the same way as a pink cow would be...

i dont own a rolex yet...but when i wear my breitling (please dont kill me guys im
just a student ) replica i get allot of glances and a fair amount of friends and random folk have asked me about it...

the usual comet is what kind of watch is it and how much did i pay for it...

As For me
1. They dont notice
2. Dont care
3. Think its fake
an I think only someone does notice is because of the Diamond Bezel or the love Rolex.

With any of my Rolexes - never! Only watch that has had a comment is my bright orange dialed Doxa and that was from my Mother-in-Law!
Non WIS people just don't notice watches IMO.

I have worn Rolex since 1989; I can only recall a few times anyone made any comment on my watches. Most said you have a fake Rolex, I am fine with this because I don’t wear a Rolex so people will notice it. Other times it was another Rolex owner who made a comment usually occurred on a flight or waiting in an office.

I don't have a Rolex, but people have commented on my CW and my Tissot and my Alba, may she rest in pieces.

I have had more compliments on my Daytona than any other watch. I usually get comments from other Rolex owners or by people who are married to Rolex owners. Others don't seem care much about watches in general.

To tell you the truth, I don´t want anyone to comment on my ROLEX, because I didn´t buy it for them, but for myself. So I don´t care if they spot it or not, if they like it or not. (Though I´m sure they like it !!!!)

No one has commented on my YM. Granted I've only had it for a month now. One of the things that attracted me to the ss/plat YM is how subtle is was. I didn't want anything too flashy that would get noticed. I'm happy just knowing that it's a Rolex. I don't need anyone else to know.

The only comment was from another Rolex wearer (GMT pepsi) he noticed my White Exp. II
He commented that would be his next Rolex. After a couple minutes of talking he mentions he owns a HD (wide glide). I tell him I too own a HD. He has now joined a few friends and I riding to the Florida Keys and other watering holes. Yesterday we took a nice ride around Lake Okeechobee (350 miles) with 12 bikes.
Started ride at 7 AM temp. 46 deg. F, don't know the wind chill factor at 60-70 mph but it was COLD.
My White Exp. II didn't skip a beat.

You meet the nicest people wearing a Rolex

Rarely get comments on my DJ or GMT II except from watch nuts. I do however get many comments with my Tag Monaco. I notice the " look" from other Rolex owners too.

At each of the bigger Christmas parties I went to last year, someone noticed.

In one case, it was a Rolex collector and his wife. We had a pretty nice discussion regarding all things Rolex, however it was a little uncomfortable having that discussion in front of a number of non-Rolex wearers who must have thought we were being a bit snooty. lol

The other party had a nice fire and the flames were really making the YG sparkle. A woman sitting close to my said, "my your watch is really sparkling in the firelight - it looks fantastic" after which I proudly proclaimed it was a Rolex and then she inspected it further and she really thought it was great. That really made my evening, because I had just recently gotten it back from the B.H. RSC.

The only person to comment on my watch in the last 20 years was the husband of a co-worker last May. His wife had just gotten him a SS Sub/Date and he was very proud of it, and made some small-talk comments to me about my GMTII.

I notice watches probably more than most people, but I can't remember ever making a comment to a stranger about their watch.

I occasionally get compliments on my DateJust... I think people notice more than they let on - I have caught folks checking out my watch and not saying anything... Maybe they think it's rude to comment... I myself notice others wearing Rolex watches but I rarely say anything about it... You have to admit, a Rolex has a presence to it... A bit of that 'je ne se qua'... but, as has been said before, I wear it for myself, not for others...

Only once or twice on my Rhodium dial DJ. The other day a co-worker had purchased an Omega Seamaster, and contacted his insurance co. to add it to his home owners policy. The woman who took the info is the wife of another co-worker. The husband was asking what made a watch worth so much, just as I walked in to get so me coffee. We both tried to explain to the guy about what drives watch lovers. I mentioned my watch is running a little fast every day, but runs exactly the same every day, and I will wait until my next service to fine tune it. The guy looked at my Rolex and said, "Oh it that also an expensive watch or something?"

Just goes to show many people mught notice your Rolex, but not know what the heck it is.
