from what i have gathered from my recent research, the 297 has Titanium & Steel bracelet and the 88 has the leather strap.

both are Panerai Luminor GMT @ 44mm - the dial is slightly different between 2 models. imo - the PAM088 dial "pop" more due to the silver-ish sub dial and hands. the PAM297 has a more matured dial look imo.

I like the look of the Panerai with the white dial and leather strap whichever model that is .
