question for Audemars Piguet owners...
Hey guys, the Royal Oak Offshore has been my bedroom wall pin-up for quite some time now and im about to pull the trigger. I am in a bit of a dilemma tho, I love the Volcano, Safari, and black themes, but i cant get the Rubber Clad out of my head. So my question to you guys is, can you put a Rubber Clad bezel on a steel or titanium version? I looks as though you would be able to however i'm not sure if there is a different method for attachment. I cant get the image of a RubberClad Volcano out of my head!!!! is this possible??
Thanks in advance guys, ill post pics once i sort this out and but the watch! |

Having owned Safari and both RG Rubberclad and Black one--go with the Black face Rubberclad--you won't be sorry. The Safari is more dressy--great watch--but the Rubberclad is an Icon--especially with the black face!! The Volcano--not my cup of tea!!! Wouldn't touch it!!

mm, good food for thought. how has the rubber bezel held up over time? how well will it age? do you know if you can swap bezels out? say a volcano with rubber bezel?

You cant swap bezels...
The rubber ages well, if you beat it and scrape it against things of course it will show but so will it on metal if you beat it. It is more forgiving than metal with minor dings Id suggest looking into the new Ti silver themes

I don't think the Volcano (nor the Bumble Bee for that matter) are great first APs. They are not very versatile...they are great looking watches, but how often can you get away with wearing an orange watch? Between the models you've mentioned, I would go with the Safari first and the RC as my 2nd choice. Both are great watches, I'd recommend looking at them both in person (if you haven't already) and that will make your decision much easier.

Love the RC as I said-it wears well--must be careful. I love the Safari--had it too-see picture of it below--also--must be careful with bezel too. Both awesome--both versatile--again RC more casual--Safari more dressy and good for jeans and tee shirt too!

The safari is just amazing, my next one in line... I just got myself the Royal Oak dual time on leather strap...
The clasp however, is not comfortable to wear. :( |
