My AD Called

After spending a fun week taking my daughter to start her senior year at the University of Wisconsin, I returned home to NYC last night. Today was my first day back at work and early this afternoon my AD Wempe called telling me that a new Sub C arrived and it was mine if I wanted it. I went over to check it out and although it is beautiful, it is somehow slightly underwhelming possibly due to the fact that I own a GMTII C and a new 16610 Sub, both of which look somewhat like the new Sub C. I also tried on a TT Sub C with a black dial and although I never considered a two tone watch before, this one got my motor running. Assuming that I will pause for a while after I purchase a third watch, either a SS Sub C or a TT Sub C, I am thinking that perhaps the TT will provide for a more interesting triad of watches given its greater differentiation of look to the others as compared to the SS Sub C. I am still very undecided and my AD gave me the weekend to decide and are holding the SS Sub C for me until Monday.

Thanks,
Ken

I think if you have the 16610 the ceramic upgrade is not necessary unless you really love the SS. As for the TT I say do it! I personally thing TT subs look better than their SS or Full gold versions. I just saw a TT YG Black dial this morning when I went to the RSC manhattan where it was on display on the 5th floor and it looked awesome!

Yea, Wempe is a pretty cool AD. They are a no pressure, well informed, very relaxed place to browse and purchase nice watches. If anyone lives or visits NYC, check them out, you will enjoy your time there. This decision will be on my mind this weekend, you can be sure of that.

Thanks,
Ken
