Oyster datejust preciscion question
Hi a newby here with a technical question.
I have recently bid on an Oyster datejust precision cal 1225 which I won at a good price. I have just been emailed and told the following: the watch you ordered was found to be defective during service ie, not keeping good time & replacement parts are scarce. We are offering you this replacement for the same value. Please advise if this is acceptable or we must cancel the deal. In its place I have been offered a mid 70s Rolex Precision 6694 with a replacement acrylic glass and a strong reliable 55807 movement. It includes a custom oyster style steel bracelet & a new generic leather strap. Is this a worthwhile deal i.e. is the newer one a more accurate movement etc. They both look in good condition. BTW the other rolex in the house was a present to my wife on her 40th birthday. A 1970 ladies oysterperpetual date adjust SS with 18k gold bezel, winder and center of jubilee strap. Mother of pearl face with gold roman numerals. |

This doesn't sound good, and with an aftermarket bracelet on top of that.
Welcome to the forum and cancel the deal. |

Watch comes from a very reliable verified source. I dont doubt the authenticity. All I wanted to know was if the date of manufacture (mid 1970's ) is correct and if the newr mechanism is more accurate. What would the caliber be?

It looks weird to me...but I'm still a newbie I guess. Isn't the crystal too tall? And also, is there something missing in the movement?
