I used the ADs insurance once in a simaler situation years ago, not as cheap as some, but peace of mind, see if they will do it monthly, or try direct line, there into everything at the mo, cheers.

I use these guys
http://www.thmarch.co.uk/index.xalter
Never had any problems with them and a specialised watch and jewellery insurer.
Cheers & good luck with the move

I called my insureres (Sainsburys) on Wednesday when I got my 116613 home. I discovered how pathetic my cover was. Good job we did not have a burglary.

Short up, ditched them and got fully loaded with LV, specifying full mrp for the 116613 and tag stevie mac on steel bracelet.

just a thought, not related to your situation, but well worth getting the insurers of the home to know exactly what you have. my watches are now covered for loss and damage in or away from the home. sweet.

michael.

just checked that link from Nathan and they wanted £139 for 11k worth of watches. too much.

total home package for a 5 bedroom house, accidental damage, watches, framed football shirts, shed, garage, bike etc, with lv, sub £400.

stick with you home insurer.

I would speak to your bank and ask for a safety deposit box, the watch is then covered by the bank up to £150.000 and they only charge per quarter, it's great value especially if you a a few watches. They charge £5.00 per access which is good and that you can only wear one at a time.

Insurance premiums are bloody expensive,
I was paying 400.00 per month to insure my watches but cannot afford that anymore.

Thanks for the tips & link there. My house insurance has jumped 100% this year. I have 3 rolex on it & 2 mountain bikes as named items. Just about fainted when i got my quote. Shopped around & got a cheaper quote, not by much though. All house insurances are going up a lot in the uk so pays to shop.

Marke I had a family friend who is a solictor to read the small print on banks policy and found out it best to have your own cover... They only pay out is the are at fault.

Plus I was put off when I read in the evening standard that barclay lost a customer deposit box with value of £100k

I absolutely recommend http://www.watches2insure.com/.

£50 per £5k of cover, & if your postcode's accepted they'll even consider waiving the 'must be in a safe when not worn' etc conditions.

I have two friends in insurance who checked them out for me & although I've never had to claim my friends tell me the insurers & underwrites are 100% legit.
