My First Rolex
I've only been collecting watches for a couple of years now and over that time I've bought and sold close to 50 watches, while looking to find a few keepers. I have about 10 now and almost all are vintage dive watches, some of which will stay while others will go. Well, I just found another keeper and it's not a dive watch, instead it's a 1675 GMT Master from 1968. It's a recent acquisition but I've got to say that it's really a beautiful watch and it's been running like a champ. I've been reading many of the threads here at TRF to help make my decision and I'm very happy with my choice, even though I had to trade my beautiful 94010 Tudor Sub for it. Here's the required pic.

Congrats man! Pepsi isn't my thing, I'd prefer the coke or the black version, but you can easily swap the insert anyway... :D

Thanks, Mike. Amazing that you still have the watch after 42 years. I bet it would have some interesting stories it could tell. The watch really is in great shape. The hour markers and hands look white in the pics but really have a nice off-white patina. I've always admired the 1675's with slightly faded bezels, so I may search for one in the future. Until then I still love the look of the current bezel. And thanks to everyone for the great comments! |
