I hate thieves!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have a close friend from my Masonic Lodge. We're exactly the same age and went to school close to one another although we didn't know eachother back then. He had a very bad year in 2009. Lost his wife, and both parents within a couple of months of eachotherHis parents lived in a condo nearby. My friend told me after his dad passed away that his dad had a Rolex at the condo. He had no idea what kind it was. His dad was a bank VP so I'm assuming it was something like a Datejust or Day/Date. I asked to see it. He said that he would try to dig it up but wasn't really sure where it was. Fast forward a few months. My friend told me that he searched the condo and the watch is gone. There have been open houses at the condo and probably some workmen there. As a police officer I know that it will be impossible to interview 45+ people who had access to the condo. This kind of stuff makes me nuts. I should have advised my friend to secure the watch immediately after his parents deaths. I didn't know about the condo being shown or any possible unsupervised work being done. I had planned on having the watch serviced for him as a gift. I feel bad for my friend....

I firmly believe in Karma whoever it is will get theirs 10 fold. The other side of this is if there is a stolen rolex you can bet your a$$ there is other things gone too that he may not even know about

It's a shame but it seems like sometimes there are more bad than good in the human race. That's why the good have to stick together.

wait, I am confused. Is there still a possibility that your friend still has not found the watch and that it is still in the house, has everything been inventoried? (just trying to think optimistically) This is quite a shame if someone is stealing from the passed. My guess it that it would have been someone who was left unsupervised for some time.

I prefer to disagree with that i think the majority as a whole are good, the few bad ones just get noticed more for bad than the good ones get noticed for doing good. Thats the happy world i choose to live in anyways.

Imagine looking at a watch everyday and each time you are reminded that you are a thief. Not worth the price in my book.

There's always hope that it's in a safe deposit box, especially if he was ill for a while, going in and out of the hospital, etc.
If he can find the papers or where it was purchased he could report it stolen. Longshot on a return, but stranger things have happened and there's nothing to lose. His old insurance company may have the serial # on file.

This is a really sad story....and a sick, sick person has lowered themselves to this kind of level. There is a metaphorical bullet which has just been released and it will eventually find this person. Sorry to hear.

I feel bad for the guy...this sucks. Hopefully he can find some sort of supporting documentation for the watch and make some sort of report or claim.
And Bruno is right... |

What goes around, comes around!
The Kharma bomb will go off one day, and the thief will pay. Maybe while crossing the street, checking the time on his stolen Rolex... Busses make a big statement while going 60 mph! |

It was his dad's watch and he is gone. Not sure who would make the claim. Just attended a Degree with him at another Lodge tonight where his dad lived and often visited. Had a nice time with my Brother!!!
