Can anyone tell me more about his watch, specifically # of each serial made and how long the black ceramic has been around.

I just saw one of these watches first hand and loved it, but I didn't buy into the sales person "hype" without trying to do some research first. I can't seem to find too much about it. I know its a replica of the original from the '30s, but I think that one was stainless?? I discovered the J serial # with the "pig" dial is worth more. But how many of the other #s are made. I saw a K serial in the store, the sales person claims only 1000 made and it was the most recent production #. I see M serials on the web, is that not newer? Do they only make 1000 of each run? Is the black ceramic new?

There were 1000 J series made and I believe 1500 K series. The L was 1000 and I assume the M likewise. The "higher" the number in the alphabet, the newer the watch. M is the latest.

The 292 is a special watch.

The J series or PIG dial is the most rare of them all. Usually commanding a near 50% increase over current retail pricing. It was produced for only that particular year and then switched to the simple dial versions K and onwards.

M is current.

The ceramic 292 is a great watch and it is on my list of watches to buy when the opportunity presents itself and the time is right.

I had a chance to buy 1 about 3 months ago and I opted for a Daytona instead.... to this day, I'm not sure if I made the right choice - but I think I'd be feeling the same way even if I went with the 292 over the Daytona.

I have one and I love it.
I have the 292J, so with the PIG

I bought it secondhand and had to pay a huge premium. (about 8000 euro)
But I did not care because that is the market price for a 292 with PIG, if I need to sell it one day I will also get 8000 or even 9000 euro

In Europe they were between 8000 and 9500, and they still are

Id rather the 26K, now if I can just ever bring myself
to take it out of the box and try it on
