A Newish Member and a New Unveiling

Hi all,

I've been a member for a few months, and a lurker for much longer.
In 2000, I received my first Rolex - my father's DateJust from 1986. This contented me very much for awhile, but only used it for special occasions as it is a bit too dressy for daily use (IMHO).

I am finishing up my MBA in a few weeks, and I knew it was time to buy another 'nice' watch as a present. Around a year ago, I decided that I wanted the GMTIIc, then became heavily infatuated with the Omega Speedmaster, then the IWC Pilot Chrono (notice the aviation theme, here.) Then it kind of hit me 3 months ago: "You're going to be wearing this watch for a long time, and you worked your a$$ off to 'earn' it. Don't 'settle' on this decision."

This resulted in the following new (although V-Serial) GMTIIc purchase today:

Anyway, I just wanted to introduce myself and say 'Hi' to everyone here. I feel as if I already know some of you guys, and appreciated the shared wisdom that this group brings to the forum.
Have a great weekend, and a great loooong weekend for those of us in the US! :)
