Fitting Question
Recently acquired my first 2 rolexs, 16610 (m s/n) and 16622 (v s/n). Both bracelets are a little snug. My jeweler says the linkage on the clasp can not be moved even though I have 2 extra slots (post holes) on the clasp to lengthen it. The jeweler says it should stay in the middle to prevent excess pressure on the clasp and bracelet ends when closed and being worn. He said he would have to order an extra link to lengthen it.
Does this sound correct? Why would there be extra post holes on the clasp if it was not to be used? Thanks for the help! |

I've got not idea why he would say that . Use all the micro adjustment holes there are, and if that doesn't give you enough room an AD can order another link for you. Personally I like to have enough links so that I can have a micro adjust hole or two to spare, but it certainly doesn't have anything to do with the integrity of the bracelet.

I think your AD is trying to convince you to spend unnecessary money, quite frankly

Makes no sense. Of course you could use all of the micro adjustment holes.

When you push the clasp shut, make sure you press somewhere in the middle of the clasp and not too close to the part that locks with the bracelet. That should reduce unnecessary wear on the lock.
