WG Daytona or SS Daytona and either GMTIIC or new Sub?

Hi all,

I might be buing a WG Daytona tomorrow. I was given a 30% discount. Is that a good discount? It is 30% after taxes which is 9.75 in the LA area. I wasn't planning on getting a new watch but it seems like a pretty decent deal.

My other question is if I should get a WG Daytona or two SS Watches with little or no discount? What are you opinions on this?

I currently have Milgauss GV, Cartier Santos 100, PAM 292.

Thanks!

I personally would get a WG Daytona, depending on the dial, if I like it I'd go for it.

You can't go wrong with either purchases, as long as you're not planning to re-sell it quickly, discount or no discount shouldn't be your main issue. How much you like the watches would be.

Or as an alternative, you can look for preowned watches here in TRF.

You'll definitely have favorites within your collection, hence you'll wear one watch more than another....i say go for the WG daytona!

WG Daytona (with a dial of your choice) and white dial SS Daytona as the 2nd choice (cant really see a point of having 2 x SS Daytonas in both white and black dial)

Depends on which Daytona dial is your fave. If you prefer the WG options, go that way!

Seeing your collection.....and as the house doctor for TRF....my prescription is to buy 2 SS sport Rolexes, a sub & a gmt....I recommend my "pharmacists", the "trusted sellers' on TRF.

I would get the WG Daytona as it is more rare, and seems a good discount unless it can be bettered by a TRF seller,

Thanks for all your responses!!! I really appreciate it.

I think for the time being, I have decided on getting the WG Daytona with Meteorite dial on strap. They put the watch on hold for me and I will decide in the next few days before the increase.

While I was there though, the AP ROO really tempted me. It is around the same price as the WG Daytona after discount. I am really really really intrigued by the AP however, I do think it is slightly too thick.

They had the new Sub there as well. Obviously no discount. I know I am in the minority here and please don't flame me for this, but I would rather spend the 7k on a Panerai instead. Of course, it is just my humble personal opinion. I just never really gotten into the dive watch look yet.

Oh, and what year is serial number starting with Z?

I like the WG Daytona with black dial pictured in Thomas' post above. HOWEVER, the SS Daytona with black or white dial is nice too. I'm waiting for Mark Theken's pictures when he gets his SS Daytona fitted with the WG Daytona dial (white with Arabic numerals) he recently got from Thomas. Should be quite a sight.

WG Daytona

It's a stunner. Sounds like you want the WG so go for that one. No sense in trying to talk yourself out of it (I've done that before). Go for what you're really after.
