New Tudor Heritage Chrono back to RSC for Repair
This may rekindle discussion about the Tudor Heritage Chrono movement however my intent is just to share my experience and perhaps get some insight from other Board members.
I got my new HC about 2 weeks ago and I really love the watch. I posted about it here: http://www.rolexforums.com/showthrea...eritage+chrono I use the chrono function regularly, to time food prep, parking meters, etc. A few days ago I used the chrono, stopped it and pushed the reset. I noticed that the chrono seconds hand (large orange on the full dial) did not reset to the 12 position, but was at the 11 position. I tried the chrono a few times more, and every time I did the reset, it changed reset position. Alternating anywhere between 11 and 3 on the outer dial. After about five or six tries it has a permanent new reset position between 2 and 3 on the outer dial. So, back to the AD, and now the watch is off to RSC Toronto. I probably won't see it for 3 to 4 weeks. I suppose this is one of those little things in life that teaches patience, I was whining to my wife about my disappointment, and she said, "well Rod, I am sure there are a few people who would be happy to take that off your hands". You can always count on your partner for the reality check..... I am still confident in the watch, mainly because I have confidence in Rolex and in particular the RSC. I appreciate that even the best of watches and quality control will not prevent the odd problem. My AD is very good, they only received two HCs in their September shipment (one black face and one grey), and are not expecting to see an HC in their October shipment. All to say, swapping for a new one is not an option. The Tudor really is a beautiful piece, and on a more positive note my 14060M is finally getting some wrist time as I type this. Just wondering, has anyone encountered this problem? Cheers and thanks.........Rod |

LOVE the aesthetics of the new Heritage Chrono, and many I respect tell me there's nothing to worry about with the movement. But stories like yours REALLY make me scared to pull the trigger.
Hope it works out well for you because it is an absolutely beautiful and striking watch. |

I had the same problem, but on a subdial.
As it turned out after a few more weeks the hand fell off and is now loose under the crystal on top of the dial. Sending for repair shortly |

I'm sure this is an isolated issue and hope it's back on your wrist ASAP.

Sounds like the riveting wasn´t good enough on the chrono hand. This is a common problem, especially on hands that has been removed and refitted several times during services. Rarely seen on new watches, but not uncommon

Luckly Tudor will be behind such a problem, I guess that they will change the entire movement.
My personal opinion is that such movement is too fragile, and the movement is a show stopper for me in decision of buying the new Tudor Heritage. I decided I'll go to another Rolex ... Ciao Engi |

Sorry to hear. Not good enough for a watch of that price. Hopefully it'll be made right. It's a fine looking piece. It's not common otherwise I'm sure we would know. But it has also been reported in this thread by another member which stops it from being isolated.

It's important that with any chrono, the hand should be reset as close to 12 as possible to avoid it slipping on its post. I wouldn't recommend resetting the hand any further off than 5 min from 12 either direction (anywhere between 11 and 1 is safe).

What a pain in the neck. I know a bit about this, because this happened to my Daytona - and RSC sent it back to me good as new. Took about two weeks. (It was Dallas.)

This has a happy ending, and I just wanted to close the loop.
My HC had been with RSC Toronto going on 4 weeks. Apparently it was one of if not the first HC they had opened up, and the watch required a part from Switzerland. My AD was on top of this along with RSC Toronto, and the AD came back to me saying, given the wait, he had a brand new watch waiting for me. So I am very happy, now wearing the new HC. The AD and Rolex stood behind the product. |

I guess you got the bad egg of the bunch buddy. But I'm pretty sure Rolex will take good care of it and will come back in great shape! :)

Good news on you being given a replacement.
I was interested to find out what the problem was given the discussions on the DD module? It's important that with any chrono, the hand should be reset as close to 12 as possible to avoid it slipping on its post. I wouldn't recommend resetting the hand any further off than 5 min from 12 either direction (anywhere between 11 and 1 is safe). Regarding this post - can you explain this to me in more detail as I don't understand these limitations?
