Incoming!!

OK
Many of you know my wife bought me the JLC Reverso 986 Duo Date for my wedding present. I was VERY shaken up, I had never been given such an expensive and thoughtful gift but after wearing it a bit the clasp was REALLY uncomfortable so my AD agreed to order a short strap for me. I finally got to try it on last week and it just was not comfortable, due to the shape of the case and the size of the 986 it was too long on my small wrists. I went back and forth a LOT in my head about what to do but after talking to my AD and my wife we decided it would be best for me to return it. It is an AMAZING gift but foolish to keep just because it was a wedding present if I would not wear it so my wife agreed to let me add a bit of my own cash (she wanted to pay the extra but I said NO WAY! You spent enough!)
Sooooo tomorrow I am going in to pick up my replacement wedding watch. This is something dressy yet casual, something I think is timeless and I will be able to own the rest of my life. And NOPE I am not telling what it is! You will have to wait till I get some pics up tomorrow afternoon.

HAHAHAHA

Can we play a guessing game? I'm very good at them. Give me a hint!

You know I'm good at these guessing games, I guessed your JLC in about 10 seconds!

Yeah that's right Charlie! That was a quick one.
But to be fair though... I did give pretty decent hints to start with ;-)

As soon as you mentioned the 1920s and 30s combined with a higher end, but not immediately thought of manufacture it was made obvious!

It's not a Rolex. It's Rose Gold and on leather. My first gold watch (I have a TT Oysterquartz)

It's smaller than 44 mm and bigger than 36 mm

No more posts from me till I post pics tomorrow.

OK
Just got back from my AD
Here is my new wedding present.
I picked this as its dressy yet casual and I really feel it is a timeless piece
which will always be in style.

I can wear it with a tux or jeans and a Tshirt

The 986 Duo Date Reverso is a stunning piece but it just did not work on my wrist
and I think this is just a better fit for a timeless forever piece.

Sorry for the pics but they were just some quickies.

Going to dinner with some friends tonight and I will be wearing this for sure!

My Rose Gold IWC Portuguese Chrono.

I tried on the new Yacht Club and it was nice but it just did not fit the bill of what I want from this piece

The 7 day is nice but unneeded for me.
I will use the chrono a lot more.
I just don't get all worked up over a long power reserve.
I have winders and wear my watches so don't need a big PR.
Yes I know the 7 day is in house but I know those who have to use Reichmont
service may wait 6 weeks minimum for what my local watchmaker can fix in a day or two. I had a PAM 233 that was in service for almost 6 mths and since just have not been big on in house movements. Of course I will still buy in house movements if I love the watch.

Wow, that`s really wonderful watch! It looks amazing in pink gold!
Big congrats and wear it in a good health!
BTW, I`m fan of JLC, but I think I would do the same - this IWC is simply stunning!

That is legit, it's nice to have an AD that will let you exchange like that. Got one in LA like that, very reassuring that they want to do right by the customer.

Well it was an exchange which resulted in an upsale or a total return.

I did not wear the watch more than 10 minutes so he really did not have much choice.

But yes I do have a very good AD either way.

Both are keepers!
