Looking for a Chrono Brother....HELP!!!!!!!!!
Hello. So, I'm wanting a black dialed chrono to "complete" my limited collection, which consists of a Rolex SS Datejust (white roman dial) and a Rolex green ceramic sub.
I've been looking at the Tudor's (to keep it sorta in the family -- like the 20300, current model, and of course the new Heritage -- though is it maybe true the movement might be sort of a problem?), but was thinking -- You all know SO MUCH more about watches than I ever will, as well as know what different watch companies are out there that I might not have even heard of. So, I'm looking for possible suggestions. Now, I want something "nice." "Different" and/or "unique" wouldn't be bad either. I want a bracelet, not a strap. Nothing too formal. Really don't want to spend more than 5K either. I also tend to like either BNIB or LNIB pieces. I know Longines, for ex., has some nice watches, but, I think I want something with more...."something." Can't explain it.... Anyway, any and all responses will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Chuck |

How about a black dial Breguet XX?

Chuck - the Omega 3570.50 is one of THE black Chrono to get.
If it isn't special enoug... Then can I suggest the new Zenith Vintage 1969 in black dial combo.. I think it only can in strap though. Again, the El Peimeo movement is the grand daddy of all Chrono movements IMO. |

There's the Omega Speedmaster of course, but then there's also the IWC 3717 Pilot's Chronograph that you may want to take a look at.
There are also the Vacheron Overseas, and the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak line. Obligatory pics: EDIT: Glashutte is GREAT I was going to attach a picture of one, but couldn't find a picture I liked. They're a German brand, who make completely in-house hand finished movements. Take a look at their site! http://www.glashuette-original.com/ |

Believe it or not - there is nothing wrong with the Omega bracelet. Yes, you may have heard a few push button clasp issues, but that's the rare case. I have 3 Omegas and the wife has 1 with push button clasp, not an issue at all. In fact, those bracelets are bloody comfortable, even more comfy than a hollow link Oyster bracelet (oops..)

Speedy is the best budget black dialled chrono I know. There are other choices, but they don't suit my fancy.

Thnaks all -- But, it's gonna be a Tudor. Keeping it in the "family." Unfortunately, living in the US I can't see one in person. Talk about a "bummer."

Tudor would be best choice!
And be relaxed about movements, Rolex would never put inside anything unreliable!
