Submariner Strap Options

Hi Guys,
How are NATOs on a small wrist? I am pretty active and want a different strap option for my Sub when I hike, mountain bike, camp, etc. My wrist size is only 6 3/4 so I am wondering if there will be a too much slack left over on the NATO. Any other strap options you guys enjoy? I like the NASA velcro straps too but wonder if those run large as well.

I would get the regular maratec military strap rather than a nato. They tend to sit a bit cleaner on the wrist and still give you the advantages of a nylon strap. Plus they are butter soft.

I have a 6.75" wrist & have no problem w/ the Maratac brand NATO type straps.

I have a 6.75" wrist and have recently started wearing NATO on my 14060M and I love it. It is nice to not have to worry about damaging the bracelet when engaging in "active" pursuits.

Looks great, 14060m always awesome on a NATO.

To the OP. I reckon any NATO will be fine for you. Any slack is just folded under or over the keepers on the band.

Do you have a Sub or a Sub Date? The Maratac ZULUs do not fit inside the spring bars on the 14060M, but they do fit on the Sub Date. The Maratac NATOs fit well on either.

I use a Maratac NATO on my 14060m for diving - a very comfortable and classic look.

I would go with the G10 nato. The Zulu overpowers the sub, it's to much. The G10 is perfect http://www.broadarrow.net/maratac.htm

Seriously?

How so? NATO straps have so much more fabric to tuck and fold than a zulu-style (I actually like the ones with the military keeper vs. all the rings). I can't rock a NATO on my 6.5-6.75" wrist...just WAY too much strap.

Subs look great on NATOs, and black crocs... or even dark brown at times.

Suggestion: Get the two-piece NATO strap. The regular, wrap-around kind can scratch/mark the case-back. I know; it happened to me. I wore a NATO for months on my old Sub and it left the impression of the strap width on the case-back from rubbing. A two-piece NATO eliminates that issue.

A Tropic strap was an available option at one time from the AD

Cut off all the extra strapping and remove the extra 'locating' piece along with the extra bars. Cut the strap to the length you require and seal the ends with a gas lighter.
