new generation bracelet for ExpII ??
I have an Exp II (white face) and have been thinking of trying to get a ‘new generation bracelet fitted’ - i.e. the better quality bracelets where the folding clasp tapers and so on...
Has anyone done something along these lines ; do the’ new generation bracelets’ fit the old generation watches ?? And what kind of cost would I be looking at?? Presumably I don’t need the entire new bracelet but merely the new buckle and folding clasp part of the bracelet - I wonder if it is possible to only buy this and get it filled on to the existing bracelet All feedback welcome Thanks |

Nope
You can not retrofit new items to an older Rolex at least not by an AD and if you do find a non ad to do you will have a"Frankenstein" that does not match the papers. I have an Ex2 polar myself and there is nothing wrong with the older band so my advice is forget about it and enjoy your watch. My Ex2 is without a doubt my favorite watch and I wouldn't change a thing. Hope that helps.

hi p have read a few threads here where new style bracelets have been fitted to the oldies. not sure about what fits to what though. i think sub c /gmt 11 c to 16610 sub date was a goer. j

Panos,
The new style clasp from (as an example) the Air-King 114200 and the GMT II 116710, fits as should the clasp from the new Submariner 116610. I do not know the ref numbers nor the prices, but there are members here that have the 114200 and the 116710 clasp on their Ex 16570. I find this to be a very good combination of the current lighter bracelet and the upgraded new style clasps. Personally I prefer the lighter oysterlock clasp. Best, A |
