My wife made me promise...

Remember guys when I made a vote regarding the gold Daytona or the other gold Daytona?

Well, I ended up with the gold Daytona, not the other gold Daytona hehehe.
Anyway – my wife made me promise I had to stop buying anymore watches for the moment and I have one too many already! So I also need to “re-think” which watches I really like.

I had to admit there are now a few that doesn’t get enough wrist time, so I think it’s justifiable that I am going to let go one or two… or maybe three…?

So enough prologue, I couldn’t make up my mind, so I visited my dealer and wanted to see the watches myself. Now the gold bracelet Daytona with gold face, was awesome. It had such a great price, it was a no brainer. But when I saw the black face with strap – it was a no brainer for me. I came to realize that I never had liked to wear a bracelet very much anyway, and if I did buy the bracelet version, I would’ve switched it to strap right when I get back home.

Hence, why bother? The Daytona on strap version is much better for strap – since it has the end links and all. And yes – the end links (TO ME) does make a huge difference between looking good, and looking AWESOME.
Well – I bargained extra hard and I got an extra 10% off from the price I listed on the previous poll. And a couple of freebies that keeps me happy.
It’s the weekend now, and I’m enjoying a short break from work, and definitely enjoying my watch! And I'm playing further with the Adobe, I hope my pics are better now.

The dial is great to look at, the combination of gold, black and red is simply stunning in my opinion. It’s what I call “DASHING”. I do wish the small subdial hands are red-tipped however (not all red), I think it makes an added dashing look.

Oh one thing you guys might notice, yes I am not wearing the original strap. It’s because I have such small wrist that I had to CUT the original strap to fit it. I couldn’t be bothered. And they don’t have a great leatherwork person (what do you call them again?), hence they might just end up making more of a mess. So I bought a third party gator strap, and it fits just fine. ☺

Here’s the obligatory wrist shots…

Simply stunning Sir Norman... My Mrs. has requested the same of me and that's why I am proceeding with caution on the Yacht-Master I am looking to purchase because I know I will be on the hook to wait another 5 years to purchase another timepiece (according to her) Enjoy your Daytona you picked up a stunner and have an understanding lady

Very nice Norman!

Totally worth the "no more watches" promise!

Good luck with the abstinence!

Haha, well at the moment I'm thinking of selling my jlc master geographic and omega speedy away. Since I had two pending offers from two friends that was previously interested but I declined.

Well, makes me feel even more like an explorer no? Hahaha.. But I really liked a polar! Been eyeing it out for some time but never found a great condition one. Mostly black.

I know a few members have sold them before, but I have trouble with import tax duties and customs..
