Have you developed odd little second nature habits to protect your Rollies when out in active life? Examples for me are to make sure my cuff is down when I am walking in a crowd, or if walking next to a rough wall or masonry on the watch side, I will occasionally just put my hand behind me so as not to scrape it against the wall. I used to be a bull in a china cabinet, and I am more careful these days with a rollie.

Yes, since owning my first Rolex I have had to be alot more careful with my arm movements. Would go banana's if I put a scrap on any of my Rolex's. Do not want my Rolex to become a Wooolex!

For sure, waving one's arm around, for example, near metal patio furniture is not good. I actually do a lot with my watches on. But it is the stupid little unexpected event where one will scrape a watch. So, for example, I took mine off this year while putting up Christmas decorations. And wouldn't you know, it I scraped my wrist on an awning right where the watch would have been.

I mean if it is going to get injured or scraped, let it be due to something exciting and bigger than life....not from hammering it into a doorknob or bashing it against someone else's waving arm watch. (I actually know someone who did that).

I have all kinds of little quirks as you mentioned, making sure that nothing inside cuffs would scratch, watching doorknobs, walls etc. These sport watches are larger, stick up more on your wrist, and I'm more aware of something on my wrist. On the other hand, as many say on this forum, you have to wear the watch and not be too anal and ruin the joy of wearing it. It's a fine line twixt lunacy and sanity!

Hours after buying mine I banged it against a shelf at Walmart. Almost had a heart attack when I looked at it and saw what looked like a huge scratch acroos the crystal! Luckily, it was just an arm hair that had chosen the worst time to lay across the watch I have looked over the entire watch, and not a scratch!

I'm going to be more careful, though.

i usually just wear it at work where i don't have to do much physical work and take it off when i have to

I always wear long sleeves with a Rolex, or any good watch. I've become pretty conscious of what the dangers are, and it is almost second nature not to make any sudden movements or do any heavy work with a Rollie on my wrist. I know it's a slightly up-tight way of doing things, but I just like them to be relatively fresh looking. Larry.

I take it off while sleeping, Dont shower with it, Try not to bang into things But overall I am enjoying it to the fullest wearing it every day rather than it being a vault queen
