Should I make the bold move from 16610LV to Sub-C?
Hey Folks,
This is a fairly commonplace thread and I'm a frequent contributor. The more I sit around and think about watches, the more I think that I should just go for the Sub-C, foregoing my beloved 16610LV and maybe even my GMT Master to make it happen. I am really more of a one watch kind of guy and think I'd probably be happy with an uber Sub-C vs. a couple of near-misses that keep me thinking, "if only this was x." What do you think?! Please talk me on or off the ledge. Photos are certainly welcomed. Regards, EL |

New and old
Vs. Old and new IMO - the 16610LV is just as a great looking piece as the Sub-C. Yes, the 116610LN has the newer case and more solid bracelet, but that is pretty much it - the ceramic insert isn't all "that" IMO. So, it's up to you at the end of the day. The good thing is that you can fit a black bezel insert on 16610LV too. I know I'm not really the right person to ask for a suggestion...... Good luck, can't go wrong either way IMO. |

Well the Subc is definitely a nice piece but I wouldn't lose the LV to get it...
Have you tried on and seen the Subc in person??

Nope, I have tried a few times and no one has had the Sub-C available. I have only seen the seductive photos online. Many of which don't look too much different from my Sub LV with black insert. But I'm still intrigued and that's why I started this thread!

I traded my 16610 for 116610 and have not regretted for one minute. Biggest advantage of 116610 is the glide lock (oh so easy and comfortable to adjust) and the ar coating on cyclops.

Don't do it, you will regret it!
My new SubC is sitting in the box at home and waiting for some wrist time, but it will not happen anymore. The new case design with the wide lugs is not what I like. I know that there is always this thrill to get rid of something old and get the new. But from my own experience I can tell you: After 2 months I was fed up with the SubC, couldn't stand out anymore.... But in the end, you have to go for what you really like. I know there are many people around that actually like the new design of the case. And believe me, technically speaking, the new SubC is one perfect watch... Tom |

the old classic sub is perfect... The LV brings you in addition the maxi dial and the natural green acid touch... Classic case (beautiful because slim) with maxi dial: Don't sell it! (or buy the new to compare for a month before selling the "old" one)

In short...no. Several factors, including recent price increases mean this is an even worse deal for you.

I wouldn't do it . The LV is a perfect watch in my opinion .
it's been my daily watch for over 6 years now . please make sure you see both side by side before you do anything with the new increase , it just doesn't seem like it's worth all that money IMO

It would be easy for me to say, simply, don't do it.
After all, you're experiencing exactly the dilemma I went through, although I didnt have an LV at the time. See the Sub-C in person before you even consider this move. For me the choice became easy one I had both on my wrist. I fall into the camp of the LV being the perfect, modern Sub. Wouldnt trade it for anything. |

I agree with those that say wait to see it on your wrist. I was considering the old vs the new, waited until my ad had both and could compare them. (actually was able to compare all four- new and old black and green). Having only seen rhpictures previously I was leaning to the old but once I saw them on my wrist it was no contest- I loved the sub c. And yes the bracelet/ clasp are a huge improvement. As a solo daily wearer you can't go wrong with the new one. Good luck with your choice.

Do it, the clasp on its own is worth the upgrade......it is a piece of art.

I traded in my LV for this and dont regret it for a second.
If you can swing both then I would say keep the LV and get the C because, IMO, they are different enough to justify it. |

Have to agree and basically the same except for a ceramic insert, different clasp, and slightly restyled case plus quite a price hike.

NOPE! It doesn't get any better than a 16610LV. Maybe I'm biased.....

Get it. I did and I've never been happier with a watch. The glidelock bracelet, the AR cyclops, the Pythagorean ratio between the case width and the lug width, the extra finishing evident on both the watch and the bracelet make it all add up to a superb choice, imho.
Those who whinge, pule and ululate about not liking the new style are nattering nabobs of negativism, as Spiro Ted Agnew used to say. |

I would get the Sub C I have had it for amost 2 months now and am in love I have a TT Sub Ceramic for about a year prior and loved it too...
The clasp and new case design wears so very comfortable IMO. You certainly need to try it on first but I would take this over the older sub anyday. That being said, I have an LV too and would NOT sell/trade it. I personally would save the $$$ and add a 2nd watch but you say your a "one watch kind of guy" so that being the case makes this decision a bit tougher. Love my sub C Here are a pic of each
