Mistake?
I am going nuts having this Thomas Preik caseback lying around. Would I void my warranty by installing it on my new 116610LV? My local AD has the tools and would be willing to do it. I also have a Bergeon opener and could do it myself but I just need to know that if I need to send it in for warranty for anything in the next couple of years and replace the original case back if they have a way of knowing?

If you switched it back to the original caseback Josh,RSC would not know the difference!
Just make sure to have the watch pressure tested after the install of the clearback! PS:is that on you 116610 or your 166610??

Don't worry, just remember to switch it back when you send it in for repair.

Omega (used to) put little red dots on the back of the case backs to show if the back has ever been opened. To my knowledge Rolex never did this so i think you're good to go.

Relax....
I wish we had stats to see how often folks have to use their warranty. I am betting very, very rarely!!! |

Just do it. I mean, like other guys said, when it comes time for service, just put the original caseback on!
And one thing, if you expect some beautiful finish, or Cote De Geneve Rotor..etc..etc...you`ll be disappointed, Rolex movement is very simple and undecorated. But it still looks damn good!
