New shoes for Explorer 1

Being a huge fan of NATO straps, I ordered a black one for my explorer and I believe its the manliest combination Ive ever seen what do you guys think? Post pics of your watches on NATOs

The Explorer looks great with just about any strap or bracelet combination.

It certainly looks rugged and "good to go" in this configurations.

Here is my 6150 Explorer on a Bond Nato. I think the white dial Explorers probably look best on a Oyster or Jubilee bracelet or dark brown leather strap like Hillary wore his white dial on.

Oh yes! That's exactly what I've been thinking for my new little no date beauty. I was looking for a decent NATO but not sure exactly where I should buy a decent one from. Any suggestions? I'm thinking black would be nice!

I dont know what the rules are about posting links on this website, so I'll just pm you. These guys are located in England, but their shipping is like Ł1.50 and they have the best quality IMHO

Be sure to post pics when you get it

Here it is on a brown strap. It is a Hirsch Leonardo, Principal, curved end strap. The dark area on the dial is just the shadow/reflection of my house against the sky, not a defect in the dial.

Last week when there was a post here showing some photos of the Hillary watch on an extra long distressed looking leather strap, I spent a few hours searching on Ebay to see if I could find a reasonable facsimile. I didn't have any luck finding one.

The Explorer looks right at home on Nato or Perlon. Personally I`m a big Perlon fan like Jolu

It`s called a Perlon strap. It`s braided nylon and very comfortable as it always insures a perfect fit.
I bought mine from Sweden, but I dont think they sell overseas.

Here is a black and a mocca one on my Sinn 656

Don't know what you're talking about. Got that cut when I saved a pregnant woman from a knife desperado.

Nah, seems like the CTS is cured.

The perlon strap can be ordered from several webshops (in Europe at least), PM me if you need a link.

Guess I'd better not reply with the C section joke... I'm looking at the inevitable cts surgery myself. It's obviously not going to heal itself... Thanks for the info. Found Perlon, although only in GB. A small piece of heat shrinkable tubing at the caseback area may be an idea! I'll search a little further for a source in the states.

Beautiful leather strap, for a beautiful watch. I'm thinking of saving up for a nice dress explorer. Yours is the nicest I've ever seen
