Rolex TV Ads
Just saw a TV ad for the Rolex Daytona on BBC World. Was pretty good ad. Kept switching back and forth between closeups of a Daytona watch and auto racing scenes.
Before have seen a Yachmaster TV ad as well. Again, aleternated between closeups of the YM and Sailing. Anyone seen TV ads for Subs, Explorer II or GMT IIs ? If so what did the ads show? |

No!, they are apparently so high in demand Rolex can't make them fast enough. At least that's the stories I hear from the AD's.

I've seen a couple of Rolex TV ads recently, but I can't remember which model was being advertised.
I automatically shut down the brain when a commercial comes on (well except for the Geico ads - they have a great ad agency - between the gecko and the cavemen, they are memorable ads).

I have not seen many T.V. ads for Rolex, but do see quite a few in magazines.

The only Rolex ads shown here are on CNN Sports channel.
Seen quite a few DJs and DDs....but my favoutie one is of the yachts and the overhead shot of the men desperately at work on the yachts. Then a nice close up of the all gold YM with white dial and the final shot of the TT Blue Sub as it looms across the screen!!

Yes, JJ, that is a great AD!!
BBC World always seems to have Rolex Ads, and also is always showing Golf, yacht, or racing events with a big Rolex logo in the corner saying "Sponsored by Rolex" I think Rolex limits their TV ads to things like BBC World, CNN Sports, or may National Geographic Channel. Kind of goes along with the watch and the international aspect that Rolex watches have. Also makes sure they are not supporting anything controversial. |
