Sending my Sub to RSC
I was thinking about sending my 14060M to RSC.
I have two questions: 1. For whatever reason when I screw the crown down, I feel like a spring is caught somewhere, becasue i can feel and hear a faint spring or someting similiar clicking when I screw the crown down. Other than that, it is very smooth. I'm assuming RSC can fix this, or should I just drop it off at a local watchmaker. That is the main reason for repair. It brought it by Paul Duggan in Boston and he didn't think it would hurt anything if i left it as is, and wait for something else to go wrong before servicing this issue. I'm very paranoid and not that I don't trust them, I just don't like to live with issues. His explaination was that a spring was caught in the tube or something and making a clicking sound? I admit, I'm very nieve here. 2. I have a 6.5" wrist and I have modified a bracelet with a permanant link removed on the six o'clock side for comfort and fit. I've done this on a 2nd model appropriote bracelet, not the original, incase I someday sold the watch or was worn by someone else with a bigger wrist then mine. My question here is, what will RSC do with a modified braclet if I send the watch along with that bracelet. I'd like them to refinish this modified braclet as is, but i've heard they may replace the braclet all together, which is what i don't want to happen. Thoughts? |

It is a genuine bracelet with a permanent link removed, and the appropriote model for the 14060M. So they will refinish it and not try to fix or replace the bracelet that has a link removed? I'm hoping this is the case. Otherwise, I will just send them the head. I just don't want to risk loosing this bracelet. If it wasn't for the custom fit of this bracelet, I'd sell my Sub.

1. Yes, you are paranoid. The crown and stem isn't "connected" to anything when you are screwing it in, however, there is a tiny spring inside that causes it to pop-up.. this spring may ake a noise.. However, why not just blow of the threads and lubricate with a bit of white grease - that's likely what a watchmaker would do. Of course, if your watch is due for a service, by all means - send it it..
2. Removal of a permanent link is a very common adjustment procedure. If the bracelet is authentic Rolex, it will be treated like any other bracelet... They will NEVER replace a bracelet unless you buy one from them..
