Joined the Tudor Club..New Heritage Chrono!

Hi all!

I recently had the opportunity to pick up a two month old Tudor Heritage Chrono with the black dial and I have to say, I am quite impressed with it to date.

Very good fit and finish plus they throw in a lovely presentation box as well!

Only niggle I can comment on was the date was hard to read without a magnifying lense which came on the original but I had a solution for this..

Just shot a few lousy pics so sorry for the quality but you can get the gist of my mod.

Enjoy,

Thanks guys

I have always wanted to add a Tudor to my collection and I was sure it was going to be a vintage chrono like one of Dan's when I saw the Heritage released I thought, ahhha!

Just happened to see it listed for sale on another forum and the seller mentioned he would consider a trade for an Omega 2254.5 and as it was, I had one like new which wasn't getting any wrist time so we made a deal.

He had only sized it so it was as new and we have the same size wrist so didn't even need to make an adjustment!

Really don't understand why Rolex doesn't sell these in the USA as I don't think they take anything away from the parent company since they compete at different price points.

Only mistake I think they made was not including the cyclops from the factory. I noticed it was difficult to read the date from my first look and I have 20/20 vision but as you can see, it is an easy fix. I know not everyone is a fan of them however I think it gives the watch more of an authentic look paying homage to it's ancestor.

Will try to get a better wrist shot and post it.

Great Day to all!

David

Funny you asked Dan because I didn't have the answer either and posted the question here on TRF last week. Another forum mate said they were available at Otto Frei's website. They are as is the glue. Cyclops are $2.50 and I think the glue was around $6.

As to the instal, did it my self and it is quite easy. The glue they sell is a special transparent uv glue which means it doesn't go active till you shine a uv light on it or place it in direct sunlight. A very bright led light will also do the trick too.

You place one drop of glue on the cyclops, and I held it with a tweezer while placing it on the crystal. It isn't sticky at all so you can move it around to find the perfect spot easily. Once you get it where you want, just shine the light on it but make sure It Is where you want it because its like magic. Once the light hits it, it turns the glue from liquid to a rock in a few seconds. Clean up any extra glue with alcohol or nail polish remover (acetone) and you are done.

Was surprised how easy it was to give it a factory, vintage look and I think it adds the final touch which makes the watch complete.

Congrats it is a fabulous watch, you will really enjoy it!

I am very happy with mine as well, and I agree with you that a cyclops would be nice. My understanding is that the lack of cyclops is an effort for Tudor to differentiate themselves from Rolex.

Here is mine:

David, I really like your watch and would love to own one myself but I live in the U.S.A. as well. I know people who live in Canada so that's one possibility and of course there is always this Forum's For Sale section or the internet. Wear your watch in good health!!!

Yea....! Count me in for the Tudor Club! Just got mine today from DavidSW. the Deal was "Lighting Fast".

I love it....I love it....

It's everything I'd expected and more....

Love the Box, the quality of fit& finishes, the bracelet....!

It's look massive and big but didn't feel like it on the wrist ! Werd..!

Think, you put the cyclop on the wrong place....?

You're right about readability, but I like mine just the way it is....!

One thing I wish that they should include a tool for remove the bracelet since they gave us two....!

Enjoy the new Rolex's cousin and wear it in good health!

Hi good looking! How's my favorite Rolex wearing Texan? I'm a bad TRF friend.. last year or so has been hectic I haven't been able to post much but do get around once in a while to check in. Greatful for the career change and all is great. Kids bigger and everyone is healthy and happy so I have no complaints other than I haven't had time for my favorite hobby :
: or to hear from everyone like you, Dan and the regulars. I wonder how our favorite hairy gray haired, sheep loving Ausie is doing..

The company has grown enough so I could hire a manager to help me hopefully giving me a personal life again which will make my wife happy. I have needed to travel quite a bit this past year and when I come home she tells me I better watch out in case her husband comes home

Hope all is well with you and the family too so thanks for the well wishes.

No issue. Worst case is they would replace the crystal and I would need to replace it again but it's not like they wouldn't service it.

Yeah, I thought about putting the cyclops at the "three o'clock" position just to mess with people but decided it would drive me nuts

I have been impressed with the same high quality you mentioned as well! It's a nice size as you stated and doesn't wear big at all. Very comfortable. In reality, I don't know why I was surprised at how well it is made since it's not like a $500 watch new. Heck the thing retails for close to $6k and even with discounters like DavidSW, they are over $4 so it's not like it shouldn't be a quality piece.

Enjoy yours and wear it in good health!
