Sub c bezel annoyance

I have noticed that my bezel on my sub c slips round one notch after you wear it for a while. I think it catches on your shirt sleeve, is the bezel too slack ? Or does everyone elses do this ?

Well there have been a few reports on a few dive watch forums about the DSSD.Some stated how easy it was to turn by mistake while underwater not a good thing in a dive watch.

I must say that I have not had this problem with mine and I wear it 24/7. I swim 3 times a week so it also gets used underwater.

Every once in a while I'll notice mine has moved a notch, but I don't think it has anything to do with the watch. The tension on the bezel seems perfect to me. Then again, the GMT is not a dive watch, so your life wouldn't depend on the bezel not being inadvertently moved.

The bezels on both my GMTc & cSub will sometimes have moved without my doing it intentionally.

It doesn't bother me though to be honest.

My Sub-C needs correcting every other day. It clicks one or two easily. I considered taking the bezel off, and shaping the spring to put a little extra pressure on the click grooves.

Funny you mention that!

I doubt that will work, my understanding is that the new ones have a ball bearing click mechanism.

Both my SubC and Deepsea do it. The SubC slightly less so as being slimmer the bezel doesn't drag on cuffs as much as the Deepsea. However, I've noticed that both still click round on days where I'm wearing just a t-shirt so even the smallest bump seems to move the bezel.

I find this pretty annoying as my OCD makes we want to keep adjusting the arrow to 12o'clock! But I must say, whilst it is fail safe in it is a poor design feature of a divers watch, I'd like it to be quite a bit stiffer to move.

I was wondering same thing. I had classic Sub LV and it seemed a bit tighter, but I don't recall it being that different than my Sub C, which seems to click perfectly, but maybe moves too easily.

I'm wondering though because I purchased a SD (M series) yesterday for my wife and it's bezel take significantly more effort to rotate. Is that normal?

The SD's case and crystal thickness cause the bezel to fit tighter resulting in an increase in difficulty to rotate.

Diff rotating mechanism, I believe. On the old model I seem to recall that the spring below could be adjusted for a tighter fit, not sure about the new one.

My Deepsea gets moved every now and then, but only a clicks or two. Nothing that would endanger a dive given that it is undirectional.

Yep, my sub-c bezel is easier to turn than my older subs and is more prone to moving unintentionally.

it does turn easily because it uses a bearing not a rachet (it doesnt click) i think the rachet is sturdier and safer.

i caught the bezel of gmt2 on rubber car door just lightly and it already moved an hour.

i like that clicking sound. it is very reassuring for a dive watch.

Mine has only turned once or twice, and only when I've knocked it fairly hard. So I would say no problems here.

I can see how it can be an annoyance but I wouldn't get overly concerned about it!!!

Haven't paid attention to this before.
But my OCD demands that this issue is on my long to do list. ;-)

I have noticed that my GMTIIC bezel moves on occassion. I wear the watch for probably 15-16 hrs daily. So, no problem for me.
