I have had this watch for many years and now decided to either fix or sell. I dont know alot about it, but i do see the obvious problems. The crown screws fine but the stem pulls all the way out. I cant set the time or the date. The watch seems to work fine for just a few minutes then stops. Does not have a back. Does anyone have anymore info on this or interested in buying it? Or who is a good person to send this to for repair? Thanks for looking.

Worth it? Yes, the AK Date is relatively rare compared to the AK non date.

It's a shame that the case-back is missing... The movement will need a complete overhaul and may cost almost as much as it is worth in parts in the condition it is in... Any Rolex Dealer can send it in to Rolex for the overhaul, or you could do it yourself..

However, there is satisfaction in rescuing an older watch, even if the cost is several hundred bucks.......I would do it if I had it, but not everybody would make that leap..

The bracelet is not original... likely not even Rolex and pretty well shot...

I would find a way to salvage an old watch like that, but it probably won't be cheap. The caseback should be replaceable, but that might be the most expensive part of the overhaul.

Let us know what you do.
