Which is more desirable/valuable...?
All conditions the same, serial number range, condition etc. which is more desirable, a 5513 or a 1680 (white)?

I'm not completely sure, but I would think that the 1680 is more collectible. However I've been seeing an equal trend lately.

I think the 1680 is more desired, some people have to have the date. Personally I would rather have a 5513.

You get more if you date your arm candy.

I would prefer the 5513 but to each his own.

I could build a case for either reference, but for me the 1680 wins.

It's all relative between then 5513/1680... A gilt dialed 5513 is a SPECTACULAR watch... but so is a Tropical 1680... |

I love the 5513 but I would think its the 1680. Was the 5513 made in greater numbers?

If the question is which is more valuable--5513. Desirable--depends on if you are a vintage collector or not--to me the 5513 without a doubt--again we are speaking white or I would say 1680 Tropical Sub on both counts!!

My guess the 5513 but I'd prefer a 5512 even over a Red Sub.

Or better yet a 5512 4 line meters first gilt and a Tropical 1680!!! But then again--that was not the question of the OP.

Not new but definitely nice!! A Tropical Red is worth more than any 5513-gilt or matte. Now a 5512 4 line meters first gilt is a different story. The best bet is to have them both!! And a spare 5513 matte for snow days!!
PS-Sunny--You should get that 1680 Mark 1 from our friend!

Old divers don't need dates. I like a nice clean and clutter free dial However, I think most collectors would prefer a 1680. The flat-top plexi crystals are indeed very nice..

I'd say the 1680.

With the key parameter of same serial number range, the 1680 would be more valuable (and probably more desirable, based on the number of modern Sub dates one sees versus Subs with no date).
