Are there any good Datejust Homages?
So, as I've mentioned previously, I work at a Rolex dealer in West Tennessee, and I've fallen in love with the datejustII. I'm a broke college student working 75-80 hours a week trying to keep my head above water. I guess what I'm asking is, are there any good datejust homages? I know I'm not a fan of the yellow gold tone or even the oyster bracelet. Any ideas where I can find a solid steel one? preferably with either a president style or jubilee style bracelet... Thanks!

What Rolex dealer would let you wear a "homage" ????
Sorry I say find a nice watch in your budget that you can wear for a long time and skip a watch thats trying to be something else. Consider a nice Seiko automatic perhaps. A lot has to do with your budget which you have not told us.

Alpha or Sandoz make these kind of watches.
Exactly the same sort of design as a Rolex but with the Alpha logo and of a price tag of around $50 or so. Not my cup of tea but an answer to the question posed.

Biggest question, what's the budget?? There are PLENTY of DJ styled watches out there.

Seiko SGF 204 is a TT Datejust homage watch. Can be purchased for around $200.

I agree, if I were your AD Rolex boss and you showed up wearing a Rolex homage I would kick you right out the door.
For now find a watch in your store that you can afford. Your boss will appreciate it and will probably give it to you for a good price. When you are out of school, out of debt and have the cash in your pocket is the time to buy a Rolex.

Welcome to TRF!
Well, the question is - what`s your budget? As a Tudor owner, I would STRONGLY recommend one, it cannot even be consider as homage, because it`s produced by same factory (yeah, Tudor is Rolex`s second brand), with absolutely same build and finish quality. And ETA 2824-2, modified by Rolex watchmakers, will serve you a lifetime! And if you`re little low on the budget, you should go for some nice Seiko automatic, they have few DJ dead ringers in their offer and presents best value for money IMHO! Good luck!

I believe it's a euphamism for a fake or an identical watch with a different manufacturer name on the dial. Either way it's not a question I would ask on a forum such as this. And it's not something I would wear in a Rolex AD if I wanted to keep my job.

Seiko makes plenty of watches that are reminiscent of Datejusts--just look on Amazon and you'll find stuff like this:
And I love this Sandoz that you can find on the pmwf.com sales section: |

Why purchase an "homage" or similar style that is never going to be the real deal. That is like buying a Chrysler 300 and passing it off as a Bentley or a Kia Amante and saying it is a Jaguar S-type. If you cannot afford a Rolex, then save up and get one. Anyone that looks at your watch is going to know. Save yourself the embarassment.

Wearing an homage, aka FOLEX is like kissing your sister... Don't do it!
