Marks on 1665 tritium. Should I be concerned?

I am hunting for a white 1665 and came across one that looks pretty good. I am just not sure what to think about the very small brownish marks on the hour marker dots. Maybe they will not be so visible once it's on my wrist but the picture makes me think twice.

I'm hoping someone can take a look at the image and let me know if I should be considered. Is this just normal aging or a sign of moisture damage.

Any thoughts on what I'm seeing here.

Well- I am pretty sure I know that watch. It is priced a bit high--hopefully you talk them down--they are flexible so make sure you do!! I noticed the same thing. MAke sure you get a high res picture or look at it under a good loupe! I am looking for a 1665 Rail and won't buy one without papers because so many have changed dials! I found one but it is in the Netherlands!! Best--Happy hunting.

Nice 1665.
I'd love to see a picture of your 5100 Beta 21.

The dial looks pretty good....I would certainly consider the watch, But it depends on what they are asking????

Here's my 5.3 mil for comparison....

Thanks for chiming in Clay. Your watch looks so nice and clean!

The watch is priced at 8,850 euro or $11,700 US. I think it's high but worth trying to negotiate down. Any ideas of a fair price range? There is no box & papers.

Well, prices for 1665's, in my opinion, have always been hard to pin down......
They seem to fluctuate less then most other models....Not sure why????

There are a number of factors that effect price ....
-Case and lug condition and thickness....
-Is the insert original?
-Is the pearl tritium?
-Does it have a silver date wheel with open sixes and nines???
-Does it have the correct case-back???
-Any service history???
-How well is the watch running???
-Does it come with a bracelet???
If so, which one, what's the condition, how many links, which end pieces does it have???
Can you get more pictures????
I myself won't buy a watch that located outside the USA....To many hassles involved....But that's just me.....

I would guess that anywhere from $9,5000 to $11,500. Depending on the above......

But then again, it depends on how much you want the watch......

That's about the price range I was thinking too.

Awesome buying check list! Thank so much for that Clay! Incredibly helpful in my search.

It looks like the dial may have been placed face down when it was being serviced by some non Rolex watchmaker. The same thing happened to me with a Tudor I had. I sent it to the watchmaker or repair and the dial was flawless, it came back with the same brown smudge on the markers. This is what I think it may be.

That is a bit much. Mark Lerman sold a 1665 Rail with Rolex service papers on Ebay in very nice shape--with letter from Rolex confirming dial for $9700 a few weeks ago.
