Comfort: Which Rolex "disappears" on the wrist?
I'm looking to add a Rolex in 2011 that will disappear on my wrist. I love my Sub-C, but it is fairly chunky and I would like an alternative to change it up from time to time.
I'm thinking about a few different watches, like the Explorer I (pre-2010 style), the Explorer II (perhaps white dial) and the brand new Explorer. Each of these seem low-profile and quite a bit lighter than the Sub. I know a lot less about the DJ and other variations with Jubilee bracelets, so I'm open to any suggestions for a no-nonsence comfortable Rolex. I'm not much for gold or TT, so basic SS will do. Thanks in advance for any recommendations. |

My explorer blends in better than any other watch I have. EXII is probably second. Very thin for such a robust watch.

The people whom I have let hold my 114270 have all exclaimed its heft and I do think it is a heavy watch for its size, though not a doorstop by any means.
As for disappearing on the wrist, I'd say that the Explorer is easy to wear and it doesn't scream its presence, either. On the other hand, my 116200 gets a lot of attention, although as far as wearing comfort, it's about the same as the 114270

Either an Airking or something from the Cellini line.
The only watch that I've ever owned that truly disappears on my wrist is my Jaeger, simply because it's so thin. |

You have a Sub , So how about a pepsi or coke GMT, other than that give serious consideration to 14060, Remember less is more

Thanks for all the responses! You have confirmed my theory that the Exp I and Exp II would be good lightweight options.
It is a shame that I had a Pepsi GMT that I sold and I sort of regret it. That was a lighter watch than the Sub for sure, but I think I'm looking for something a little more stealthy. |

For me my "Work Horse" is the 39mm Explorer, compare to my SUB C the Explorer is light and very comfortable.

Classic Explorer 1, no doubt. Very comfortable and unobtrusive - "stealth Rolex", as I call it.

My Explorer II is the most comfortable watch I wear, largely due to the leather strap. I find Oyster bracelets uncomfortable, sadly.

I vote for an EXPII white like my beater. Very comfortable, I'd also suggest a second hand model anything before P serial cause that's when they brought out SEL which give the head of the watch a little big more heft.
Another option is an Air-King if you don't mind no date, very comfortable and light and very understated Rolex model Best of luck and wanna see pics asap

16710 in this configuration (62510H jubilee old style with hollow links) is like a feather in my wrist. You have to look at it in order to understand that you wear a watch.

Explorer II - very light, slim and under the radar.....also has date and second time zone which are very useful.....originally on an Oyster band but can be fitted with a Jubilee making it even more comfy
DateJust (original) on Jubilee - possibly the most comfortable Rolex out there.....also has the Date (obviously!) Explorer - I don't have one (but would love one) - downside (not really!!) no date and on an Oster band which is maybe slightly less comfy than a Jubilee....but you can get a Jubilee to fit it... I suppose it boils down to whether you need date or second time zone complications.....but those three would be my suggestions over everything else.

Eric, IMO if you like sports model, then look no further than an EXPII. It is less complicated and light enough to disappear into your wrist. The White dial is a great looking piece.
Other than that, it'd suggest a 16610 Sub. I have been wearing the 16610LV and half the time I have forgotten it was on my wrist. |

The Yacht-Master is the most comfortable watch I have ever owned. Even with the extra weight.
