Last acquisition of 2010
But probably not my last watch...
This is a very early Oysterdate, ref. 6094, with Super Oyster crown, from 1952 by the SN (880XXX). It looks unpolished to my eye. I've had a 6694 from the mid-60s, gorgeous to be sure, but somehow this one, with the gold embossed markers, gold-surrounded date window sans cyclops, and red date wheel, just seems so much more unique and to my taste. The crown is cool, too (though I don't plan to swim with it). cal. 1210, I believe No inner case back photo yet, sorry.

That is a beautiful watch. The font of the 6,9,12 looks just like the font on my 6150. I also like the position of the Rolex crown on the dial, also similar to my 6150. I think that position gives the dial a better balance than the crown as the twelve o'clock marker.

I know, what can I say, but echt 1950s styling at its best!
Now if only these were 36-37mm, then it'd be perfect.

Adam:
This is a gorgeous watch. The more I see and handle vintage watches, the more I like them! Little great details, like the gold markers, dauphine hands, the gold trim around the date window, red date numbers and the applied gold crown, add to the charme of these pieces. IŽd love that Rolex could mantain these features in their present line. Enjoy this watch in good health, and I sincerely wish this is only the last of 2010, but surely not the last in your wonderful collection! Best cordial regards, Abel.
